LAINEY we are here for you, will always be here for you to share the good and the bad, it's what friends are for my dear xxx.0

Lainey, please feel you can share your thoughts and worries with us, we are all friends, and how many times did I need you all when Himself was ill.
I am sorry Mum had to deal with that yesterday, and hope the appointment today goes well.
Chin up lovely lady, we are here

Lainey never apologise for anything honey we have all at various times been in bad/sad places, and everyone here is willing to send you a virtual <hug> and a chin up to help you through your good and bad times .That is what friends are for whether in RL or 'virtual' ones and I think we are all 'virtual' friends on here .Hope the appointment goes OK for you both xx
and to the rest of you smashing folk
Good morning, weather is looking a bit grey and damp at the moment, but its Friday and another week has vanished again !!!
Not a lot to do this morning as I polished off the bit of ironing I had to do yesterday so a pretty clear morning for a change. This afternoon I have my History Club and we are discussing the various lady friends of Charles 2ndshould be interesting. NSD today I will be doing that tomorrow morning as I have squeaked through this week without having to go anywhere near a food shop
:):) Only essentials on my list for tomorrow and not many of those either Last night I knocked up a banana custard from evaporated milk instead of fresh milk and it was delicious and enough left over for pud tonight. Not too sure whats for dinner tonight I think it will probably be something fishy from the freezer.
Hope everyone has a good day what ever they are doing
Cheers chums

Lainey You're not bringing the thread down! x Thinking of you xx
I've flung some things away, rearranged, tidied and sorted most of the house. Also gone through old paperwork and receipts, they've been shredded for the nesting boxes in the chicken shed. Still at a bit of a loss with the bedroom though. And I won't be happy with the lounge til the walls have been skimmed, a job I wanted done this year but we still haven't got around to it, lol.
I haven't slept very well for the past few nights, then when I get up in the morning I ache quite badly from my waist to my knees. By mid-morning the aching has gone. Not sure what's going on but I wish it would stop. I've been 'diagnosed' with things by experts, you know who I mean - your husband, your mum, the woman you often see when out walking the dog...There's actually nothing wrong with me! But I've been doing a bit of reading - NHS and webMD, not the sites that diagnose you with death and swear the cure is to sit at the top of a tree for exactly 13 minutes with a turtle dove balanced on your left foot and other such rubbish :rotfl: - and have decided to cut out caffeine from 4pm, drink more water and do a few stretches before I get into bed.
Last night I got some meat and veg out to defrost - stew in the slow cooker, you can't beat it at this time of year! There will be plenty left over so it'll keep me going for a few days. Mr tru says he's going to sort the shed out today, I hope he does because then I can take a few things out of the house and store them in there. I'm going back up to the bedroom to see if I can make sense of it, lol.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) of you need one. Especially Lainey and her Mum.
Eldest daughter is 56 today. They fly home from Cuba tomorrow. The hurricane just produced a lot of rain with some high winds, not the devastation it has in Haiti.
OH has an appointment at the local hospital this morning, he has to wear special insoles in his shoes, he needs to be fitted for a new pair. Going in early so I can drop some stuff in the charity shop and get his yogurt from Morrison.
Dull and quite cool this morning, it turned cold yesterday afternoon, I lit the fire just after 3pm. Just made it up with big lumps of coal later and it stayed in till we went to bed.
Lost my cool with OH last night, he has my old lap top, it uses windows 10, I have shown him what to do with it more times than I care to remember, last night was the very thin end of the wedge. He was very quiet for the rest of the evening. He seems to be loosing the ability to retain information.
We are out for supper tonight. It is the village feast, sausage and mash with apple crumble for dessert for the village, its usually pretty well attended. There is a plate left at the door for contributions as you leave. We will see if our reception is better than last year when we sat on our own and spoke to no one, despite our neighbour being next to us. If it is the same we will not go next year and I will be telling them why.
The chap came and fitted the gas meter last night, he was close to the wire, ten to six!! He was on call, asked if he could sit in his van on our car park whilst he had something to eat and drink. No problem, he tucked his van in next to our car, disappeared sometime after 8pm.
Right time to sort myself and my shopping list out.0 -
Jackie - do you mean Charles II - he was the king with the lots of lady friends, from what I remember Charles I was quite fond of his wife.
Lainey - what the others said.
There's not a lot planned here today, I managed to clean and tidy the utility room before the tumble dryer arrived yesterday so I'm pleased about that. I need to do the filing in the study so that it doesn't build up again after my marathon session a couple of weeks ago. I thought DH had done it earlier this week but then found that he'd just taken it into the study and put it down grrr.
DD rang last night, they had a builder starting on Monday who has let them down at the last minute (not his fault as he has unexpected health problems). They are still coming to stay with us though as the plumber is still coming to sort out the central heating.
The honeymooners are home tonight, we collect them at 11.30pm then they have the weekend to come back to earth before work on Monday.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
I had a lovely lie-in this morning and got up just as the girls were leaving for school. Hubby is home making me a bacon sandwich as I write
:D. It's going to be an interesting day as I am going out again to see an old friend. I haven't been to hers for over a year so I am looking forward to it.
Last night's meal out was fantastic with brilliant company and really nice food. I'm afraid that my diet went out the window and I had a posh burger instead of what I had planned but it was delicious and I didn't have any pudding as I was too full so not all bad.
Tonight I am going to be making macaroni cheese for the family, I was supposed to make it earlier in the week but it never happened so it's being bumped up to today.
Anyway, my sandwich is here so I wish you all a fantastic Friday, hope you have a great weekend too, take care xx0 -
LAINEY just popping on to echo what everyone else has said. And blooming heck, look at me, bombarding you all with my current worries and woes recently.
DS just left for work (late shift today) so early lunch is planned and then I must force myself to give the place a sort of clean up. Where I can get to, at least, with the duster and vac. Many boxes and piles of stuff to weave my way round! Was going to wash some bedding today but drizzle stopped play and thwarted plans to peg out! I think tomorrow is a better forecast! I live in hope!
Enjoy rest of the day folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hello All
Busy day today but had to come in to wish everyone well and send love, hugs and positivity to all xx
If you're in a dark place - keep going xx
Lainey - you've more on your plate than most - so if you can talk about it here, hopefully that will help you get some sleep. Look after yourself xx

Good afternoon chums,
It's Friday!!!
Later check in from me as I was at another networking event this morning which was good however not the kind of clientele I need to be speaking to.
Tonight I leave work at 4pm and go home to get read and collected to head to Campbeltown for a golfing weekend. 2 days of golfing and staying at my friends house over there, or I should say his mums house when she's not on holiday. So a cheap and fun weekend.
Lainey - One of things I love about this thread is how supportive everyone is, so please get it off your chest and we'll try and help.
Dumpling - Super proud! Enjoy seeing your friend.0
