New build Patio doors - Patlock?

So my understanding is the patio doors are the easiest and most common point of break in. Having just recently purchased a Yale home smart alarm system I was also considering buying a Patlock for the patio doors, has anyone used this? Or know of a better alternative?

French doors I assume? Do they have multi-point locking? If so, I'd just make sure it has a high security cylinder and not worry too much about it. If somebody really wants to find a way in they probably will. We have an Ultion Brisant cylinder in ours.

I have a Patlock for my French doors and they do make breaking in much more difficult in that they lock the handles so they cannot be forced from the other side.

French doors are notorious entry points for burglars and the harder you can make it the less likely you will be an easy target. If you fit a Patlock and they want to get in they have to smash the entire door panel, maybe both panels too. Very noisy and very messy.

All the houses, 7 years old, along here have sliding doors on to a terrace with a public walkway 5M away.
Most of us have a pole or piece of water drain pipe which we lay in the inside runner of the doors so if the lock is forced the door still cannot be opened.
    Simple and cheap!

Weirdly both locks on each door require two a different key to open.

I have just purchased a home security system aswell which will have door contacts on the French doors

That's normal for them to have a different key for each lock.

Its not . most French doors are lock a-like . no reason why they should be different keys. some French doors have just one handle and an internal clip system to open the slave . Patlocks are a good idea as an extra security measure but as said if they want to get in this just makes it a tad harder but...
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
