National Parking Enforcement - Parking notice posted & debt collection agency engaged

Hi all,
I did check through the FAQ's prior to posting, I guess I'm looking for a little advice.
I received a posted parking charge notice a couple of months back for parking as a "non patron" in front of a dry cleaners. The bank's (next door) car park was completely full and I left my car in the 'non-patron' space for approximately 3minutes. The letter I received had photographs of me leaving / entering my car with times included and they were asking for £60 for the privilege of withdrawing £10 from a cash point. I have since checked the 'scene of the crime' and in fairness, there is a small sign right in front of where I parked (I was in a rush!)
Said dry cleaners is directly opposite an Aldi who's car park is a hot spot for the "ignorable" physical tickets slapped on your windscreen. There are numerous articles on here about that Aldi car park specifically and after a bit of research I thought (possibly foolishly) that I could safely ignore my notice even though mine came from one of those 'eye in the sky' camera's.
Yesterday I received a letter from DRP (Debt Recovery Plus) acting on behalf of National Parking Enforcement LTD demanding £160 within 14days and I'm a little concerned that I've ignored a notice that I shouldn't have?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

hi and welcome to the forum ......
I am not sure what FAQ's you have been reading ....
"I did check through the FAQ's prior to posting"
was it
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
if not then this is the one to read ....
"opposite an Aldi who's car park is a hot spot for the "ignorable" physical tickets slapped on your windscreen."
nope ....... Aldi use ANPR and have done for some time ....
"There are numerous articles on here about that Aldi car park specifically and after a bit of research I thought (possibly foolishly) that I could safely ignore my notice even though mine came from one of those 'eye in the sky' camera's."
nope ignore went the way of the dinosaurs several years ago ......
there is a bit of confusion here (might just be me) you say its an 'eye in the sky' camera (ANPR) but your description of the parking area suggests that it was not such
and an ANPR would not be able to tell an "non patron" event.
"Yesterday I received a letter from DRP (Debt Recovery Plus)"
if you read the newbies thread (linked above) then you will understand that debt companies should be ignored ...... unlike PPC's
" I'm a little concerned that I've ignored a notice that I shouldn't have?"
yes you should not have ignored .... but sent the template / appeal to
National Parking Enforcement , who are a IPC mob member so read through re such IPC members ....
good luck

Ignore debt collectors, have as much power as the tooth fairy. You have to have 10 minutes to read any signs and decide if you want to park or leave. Appeal to NPE pointing this out, do not say who was driving, use the term "the driver" there is a template letter in the newbies thread, just add about the 10 minutes. They have never done court so far.0

NPE were 'Norfolk Parking Enforcement' and are now 'National' Parking Enforcement. Same advice as this one the other day:

You need no help to ignore debt collector letters. There is no 'next step', look what's already here on the forum:

Computerised chain-letters from debt collectors are safe to ignore.
Come back if you get a solicitor's letter or a claim from NPE (or a company called MIL who traffick in these 'PCNs', buy them up for a quid then sue people).
In the meantime, as you will now be worrying about this for up to six years, there is ONE major next step:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5524754
DO THAT!
Let your MP and Mrs May hear about how this awful threat is affecting you and what you think about the rotten greedy 'parking industry'! Write your own or use the template provided by the BMPA.
Do not panic and don't even think about paying. Do not be a victim. Just fight back via your MP and the Government, now.
Show them the rubbish you have received and ask why the Government thinks it is OK for consumers to be 'credit clamped' with a threat of court for SIX YEARS by this rotten industry of money-grabbers and ex-clampers?
On that linked thread, HO87 has just posted pointing out the stranglehold Capita has over this issue (which is all about money). But suggesting that the only answer - if the Government dare - is for PPCs to be banned like clamping was, and for S56 of the POFA 2012 (that led to Schedule 4, keeper liability for these parasites) to be repealed.
I agree. This rotten industry were never worthy of having keeper's data from the DVLA but especially not the right to hold keepers to ransom for six years for an event that they may not even recall/may not have been driving and in any case, is always unfair and nothing more than a protection racket.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
