That figure needs another zero to make them take notice! £400,000 is just small change to them.0

So that's the reason I got a Talktalk price increase email today. Talktalk don't really care about the fine, they just get their customers to pay it.0

Agreed there, the customers will pay the fine via higher bills.0 -
I know that I got hacked as I received an email from somebody who knew too much detail about me. Luckily it was old information.
I left Tiscali before TalkTalk brought Tiscali.. If I get any phone calls from scammers, I tell them to F. O.!
I will never go back to this joke of a company. I would rather go to BT or Virgin. And I don't like them either!
I also agree £400.000 was too small a fine. Should have been £4m.The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
The fine is probably cheaper than the extra security work the firm should have done. Will they be forced to do all of it now, or not really bother?0

The fine is not a record one for the ICO either as they have given several of similar amount out to other Companies, May sound pedantic but just merely pointing out the fact that it is not a record breaking fine.0

Funny ... TalkTalk emailed an increase of 7% yesterday. It included this -Don’t forget, if you want to change or cancel anything without charge or penalty, call us on 0345 172 0046 within 30 days of receiving this letter.0

But make sure you say you're cancelling purely because of the price increase.
I've heard people complain that if they mention any other reasons, TT start suggesting that cancellation fees will apply.
(And so if TT then agree not to increase your bill - you have no grounds for free cancellation.)0 -
Just tried that number a couple of times and told after a short wait that service is temporary unavailable, must be to many people phoning up to cancel.0
