Tesco Xtras App

Not so much of a complaint but intrigued to know if anybody else has had this issue. Both my wife & myself have pay monthly contracts with Tesco's & have had for several years. We're probably in the borderline whether it's better to be on PAYG or contract but the convenience of contract make it easier. We both have £7pm 250 minutes, 5000 texts & 750Mb data, we've both signed up for their Xtras app which gives you adverts when you unlock your phone which gives you another £3pm off your bill, so effectively £4pm on each phone.

When I received this month's invoice it was £11 so I used Live Help to find out why, the answer was that you have to view the adverts for 21 days in the month & I had only viewed on 19 days. Which seemed incredible as my phone is switched on 24/7 I also proved to them that I had used data on every single day of the previous month at which point they refunded the £3.

Now I know £3 is trivial but is their app faulty, is it something to do with the setup of my phone as I do not password/swipe protect it which is causing the issue, although my wife doesn't & they registered more than the required 21 for her, she has a Motorola & I have a Samsung.

I just wondered if anybody else had experienced this with Tesco?

its working fine on my phone, can be a bit obtrusive at times but easy to dismiss

Sometimes the Tesco Xtras app seems to go to sleep and stop showing adverts (on my Moto G 3rd Gen)possibly due to battery saver or cleaning applications I have on my phone. My fix for this is to take the 2 hour pause option in the Tesco app and this seems to restart the adverts. Possibly an alternative would be to add the Tesco app to the ignore list in the battery/cleaning apps. Hope this helps.
