bw legal

Hi,
Just got a letter saying LETTER OF CLAIM from bw legal. Is it the same as letter before claim and do I have to reply? I've been ignoring them up until now, though I did reply originally to the PCN when it was issued 4 years ago saying I disagreed with the charge.

So, are they chasing for a date pre POFA2012 or post POFA2012

Date of contravention was October 2012

Ok, as said, just after POFA 2012.
No worries, please tell us the history of this and what the BWLegal says, does it say "may"
  • Yes, they say, our client may shortly be instructing us to commence County Court proceedings. The PCN is because when my son picked me up from Liverpool Airport he got confused and entered a prohibited road briefly. I agreed that had happened but explained that he had only passed his driving test days earlier and wasn't used to the traffic control typical at airports.

The word "may" is key here.

They "may" instruct us to begin proceedings, so you "may" wish to pay us what you "may" "owe" us now, and we "may" not need to take you to court, where you "may" win and we will get nothing.

They're trying it on. It's a begging letter.

Did he actually park in the prohibited road.
Who is the PPC, Liverpool airport is not new here and others will know but please say.
    Did you actually appeal

From the OP, I inferred that he was driving, turned in by accident, realised, and then drove out again.

    Is this correct?

Because if so, then for a start he never "parked"...

I agree so we need to know what the charge stated
