Does anyone know what the car James Corden drives in the Confused.com advert? The one where all the traffic lights turn green?
I can see that its a Merc, but not the model number. I want one

Looks like a Mercedes W108.
I won't bother posting the same answer on your other identical thread.0 -

James Corden is your role model?:rotfl:0 -
It's a W108, 280SE.
Ignore the number plate as that isn't genuine.0 -
Bet you won't insure it with confused.com though...
It's a late 60s or early 70s car so you'd surely get a better deal with a classic car specialist like Footman James, Hagerty or Adrian Flux. (Names off the top of my head - not a recommendation).
So why did they put it in the advert? Did JC ask for a classic? Did the director think it would look cool? Or was it to avoid the debadging and disguising that happens in many other ads?I need to think of something new here...0 -
Don't know why they picked that old Merc, but do remember thinking "nice choice of car" when I first saw the ad.0

If you get one it won't turn all the lights green though.0

My neighbour at a previous house had one of these, it was a lovely car and really stood out from the modern pick and mix models. He had had it from new and loved it and I could see why."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

I'm not sure they've used the most appropriate music in that advert.0

I quite like jc but why oh why would he admit to being "stuck in the shower".....0

Lots of classics in adverts now, though I'm not sure why. There's a milk ad (shot in South Africa) with a yellow Datsun, for some reason. Can't be the only yellow car they could find.
It's a good job those lights do turn green, though, as there's no way he'd be able to stop in time. He's not even slowing down.0
