Please support me in trying to get Primark to listen to the people of Edinburgh who need an affordable fashion outlet by adding me as a friend on MySpace: myspace.com/edinburghprimark
ARRRRGGGH, please dont let PRIMARK get anywhere near you. The prices are low because of the unethical way they obtain their supplies. The quality is dire and you always end up buying better products after your first few disappointments.
Try it, shop there and prepare to be disappointed.Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

can i just say ....the liverpool one is amazing!! 5 floors! and crowd control barriers still enforced!!
Why is it always in Liverpool that crowds have to be controlled by police and barriers? What is it about that part of the world that breeds such lawlessness?Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

I think if you check the link in Black_Eyeliner's post #9, you'll see that Primark have signed up to an ethical code of supply
if you're careful & take time to look, you can find good things there, but they tend to disappear fast, leaving the 'less desirable' stuff behind
don't know about the pricing, perhaps they keep prices down by having lower profit margins because of their high volume sales?0 -
You can say what you want about their "code of conduct"....some off the stuff they have in there says "hand-stitched" or whatever...and it would take me an hour to do the stitching on there...and they're charging £2 for it...I don't see how they do that using sweat shops, much less whilst paying a decent wage...0

the term 'hand stitched' in this instance means that a person had their hands on the machine doing the sewing, 'hand embroidered' is another of the same ilk
I imagine only prohibitively expensive proper designer clothing & haute couture have genuine hand stitching0 -
We've had Primark in Ireland for years.......used to been known as Penneys.
I loved going back and stocking up on clothes, they've opened one in Redditch two weeks ago and I've already spent too much in there:eek:0 -
have you emailed primark and asked them when a store could be opening
Yes, I have (enquiries@primark.co.uk) and I was told that there are no current plans to open a store in Edinburgh, but that my email would be passed on to their acquisitions department who might consider it. I encourage people to email Primark to note their interest in a store being opened in Edinburgh.0 -
