    I understand that Sky don't hit you with a credit check, nor report your account to the CRAs (maybe wrong on this, but it's what I'm led to believe), so they are probably the way to go.

    I seem to recall smallprint, at the base of Sky leaflets, that says advance payment may be required in some circumstances.
