i think i am going to start using longlife uht milk more to make drinks, sauce etc. i used to use it all time. but now by more fresh. but with the way prices are going up , i think i am going to have to change my thinking. either that or get a couple of cows. garden big enough , not sure what neighbours would say tho.
  • the shortage of milk might be due to the foot and mouth... resreiction on movement..

as i know some farms have to move them across a road to be milked etc..... or maybe tescos havent paid their milkman

Just wanted to say we've had no problems with out milk delivery from our milkman :) Infact needed an extra pint the other day and left a note and found the bottle delivered with no problems next morning :)
Ok it costs a little more... but still much prefer keeping my milkman employed :)

No help to the op's question but I always get our milk from iceland £1 for 4 pints, it has very good use by dates as well.

Netto also do 2x 4 pints for £1.99, price has been like that for about six months too, before then it was 2 for £1.80! - Thankfully for us there is a Netto and Iceland down the road, so one of them almost always has them so you can get the 4 pint ones for £1!

Don't Asda have a similar offer on too, or has that since finished?

    Cheers

I've just been to the SPAR near work for a pint and got the last one! They usually have loads but not today!!
  • Plenty of ordinary own brand milk in Tesco here in Worcester this morning.

I too noticed it was missing from the online shelves. It's £1.34 for a 4 pint carton.

You can get the filtered milk (like Cravendale) in Lidl/Netto etc for £1.10 per 2 litres and I find this keeps very fresh in the fridge for 2-3 weeks :)
