Tesco have no milk, what's going on?

just done an on-line shop with Tesco and they had absolutely no own brand milk, had to get Yeo in the end-anyone know why? Seemed very odd, are dairy farmers boycotting Tesco or something?

Hmm wonder if people are panic buying instore because of all the price increases lately?

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions...
  • I did an instore shop in Coventry this Saturday and they had a dubious selection of milk on the shelves there, too. And the pricing was a complete mess - I got refunded for being overcharged, but on reflection the overcharge was just because they had left up old £1.68/6pt signage as well as new £1.96/6pt signage.

On the same shop I was also refunded for being overcharged on wholemeal sliced bread for exactly the same reason - both 48p and 54p prices displayed.

    Muppets!

BTW the milk price increases are horrendous when you consider it was 2 x 4pts for £2 two weeks ago (25p/pt) and now it's £1.96/6pts (over 32p/pt).
  • or farmers probs?
  • or farmers probs?

Yeah... think the farmers have some issues to deal with at the moment. Are the supermarkets cashing in on the farmers mis-fortune ???

    I wonder ....
  • Me too,and my tobacco was missing too, I gave up in disgust! No milk for my tea and no smokes, well
  • I am cross that Tescos have put up the price of Lurpak from 1.74 to 2.14 a pack Quite a steep increase almost overnight I don't mind so much if it creeps up a lit now and again but 40 p is extortionate

Online orders can only be placed if a set amount of stock is available at the store I would expect. It could just be that the delivery had either not come in before you tried to shop online for it or it just had not been booked into the system.
40p increase? Maybe they are going to do a "special" on it soon and reduce the price to....... £2 per pack lol
  • No help to the op's question but I always get our milk from iceland £1 for 4 pints, it has very good use by dates as well.
