They can say what the hell they like but they are wrong, Virgin operate their own fibre optic network separate from BT.
Most savvy people would know that but the OP is warning the less savvy.
My mum had. 3 to 4 calls from them in one day she rang me to check all was ok and what she needed to do.
Next time they rang she asked for his name and she would call op enrich to check he was genuine. Guess what....he hung up and she hasn't had any since0
