It looks like we could do with another update MSE on this issue.

Has the MSEs Tech team had a rethink on the issue is the change with the Tabs 100% changed forever.

There is still a lot of unhappy people out there.

Well I am so glad I found this thread!

The amount of times I've clicked on a link and then having read it, either closed it down or tried the back button, and whoosh, have to start again. Realised after a while that the link is not in a new tab.

It is not the end of the world, but it is incredibly frustrating!

A link should open in a new tab, end of!

    Is it being fixed yet????
  • judging by the silence and complete lack of any improvement I presume MSE are not prepared to listen to their users and do something to change this stupid move and put things back to how they were.

Very, very disappointing MSE on several counts. Much more of this sort of treatment and I think you may find your user base deserting you in favour of better run and more user friendly forums.

I'm 100% with you on that one. It is still driving me mad

and I still can't see, or understand, why there is suddenly a reason or need for it.

I agree. The lack of explanation and communication on this is very, very poor. Plenty of other sites are still opening links in new tabs - are they all putting us at risk? Please change it back asap or at least give a full explanation of why you can't and what makes this site different from others in that respect.

The fact that they're losing people from the site because of all the technical issues seems to have been ignored.

Of course updates sometimes muck other settings up, but the majority of organisations make some effort to resolve it, or at least explain why it's taking so long.

The search system is awful now too.
