    Not on it's own.
Similarly, one vote may not matter in an election or referendum, but taken collectively they do count. If 33 million (ish) people had all said "my vote doesn't matter" on June 23rd, nobody would have voted on Brexit .....

    That's a lazy comparison.

The police aren't going to fit someone up, waste days work and court over a minor theft charge. It's not a good ROI.

Voting takes a few minutes and 3/10 people still didn't vote.

The police, despite what some people suggest, are not there to screw you over. Yes there are bad coppers, like bad doctors, teachers, etc etc.

I suspect the neighbour did steal, more than once.

Any supermarket would have cctv so that part is rubbish, Secondly as stated they would not sack her on the spot either and this would have been looked into properly with perhaps being sent home if they believed the worse.

If people want to embellish stories of woe for attention then at least make them credible to read and allow others to answer, The wonders of the big wide internet and it's billions of users worldwide will of course bring out some very strange people now and then.

All that was stated was that there was no CCTV footage of the alleged theft. That's not beyond the realms of possibility for numerous reasons, not all of them technical.

However, I largely agree with the rest of your post which questions the credibility of the original account.

Still, as always, the thread provided a flurry of excited and entertaining responses.. :)
