Gers, silverside is lovely and to be honest I prefer it to topside. Just cook it slower and obviously longer, and you will have some lovely juices for gravy.
Thanks Candlelight, I did just that. It was 1.2kg so I gave it 2.5 hours on a low heat and it's just perfect! I ate two slices with the juices, the onions from the tray and a scattering of Ratte potatoes. I don't often eat potatoes but Ratte and Pink Firs are my favourites. The beef was born and raised outside my front door!
I did a small wash as the wind is very robust so the two items blew dry very quickly. The window ledges are cleared but no sight nor sound of the window cleaner, it's annoying.
A friend alerted me to a Penelope Keith Ch4 programme 'Hidden Villages' which showed both Tarbert and Crinan. I've just watched in on catch up and could see my house across the sea from Crinan :j in the distance but clear. This friend visited in mid-August during the awful rain with her father and her husband. The father said to her, whilst watching the programme 'so that's how it looks in sunshine'. It must have been filmed in late May / early June.
The culling of unread books is a struggle. And there's so many lovely new ones coming out too! But I must do it.
Dumpling - your visit to the beach bench sounds so lovely, well done.0 -

Hi Butterfly, you made me cry ( in a good way) as I have been feeling totally overwhelmed trying to stick to low carbing. I will be trying out the low GI foods to see if it helps. Thank you for the links xx0 -
Been trawling the 'net to find a reasonable price for LED light bulbs as the ordinary ones are supposedly being withdrawn So far my local electrical shop are doing R50 small screw-in bulbs for £4.20 each which seem to be a bit better than Wilkcos at a fiver I have three long bar light fittings with four bulbs on each so to replace the lot will cost just over £50.00. Think I will be doing them one at a time !! anyone else found a cheaper bulb anywhere?? They are supposed to be money saving though and last up to 10 years0

Evening, ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) if you need one. Sorry late posting. We went to the Drs this morning, there was not a spare seat in the surgery, so we turned round and came home.
Monday clean done and two loads of laundry washed and dried outside.
The Dr did phone me with the results of the pelvic X Ray I had a few weeks ago. There are signs of wear on both sides, but he said they they were looking good considering I was 73. I have to take paracetamol 3 times a day to keep the pain under control. If I take many more pills I will rattle!! I appear to have carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands, have to wait for an appointment to come through for me to be tested.
Library came today so books changed.
I have lit the fire tonight, its blooming cold.......0 -

I've never watched Strictly (just not my cup of tea) so I don't have a scooby what any of you are talking about, but it sounds all very complicated!
