Easier said then done when under a tenancy agreement which I understand theft of post isn't a good enough reason to break meaning it would cost £££££'s to leave.

When we had something similar in an HMO it turned out to be a lazy postie - if no one answered s/he was only putting one red slip through the door, with one name on it. When the packages went back to the sorting office they were split up by name, not address, so that the person with the red slip went to the post office and got their package, but anything else that had been due for delivery on the same day sat on the shelf until it got returned to sender. Drove me nuts, especially with stuff that had come from America. Put in multiple complaints and got an "oh no, our staff would never do that" but it did stop after a while.

When you say multiple flats, do you means that you do you mean self contained accommodation? Or just rooms?

HMO is one flat or house with individual rooms rented out. The delivery is going to the correct address but one of the room mates is clearly nicking it.

Time to find a new room to rent.

The Op posted this: But on the topic of the landlord, with a HMO would they be responsible for the security of the building which maybe extends to ensuring the property has suitable mail boxes where appropriate for each flat?

Which is why I was unclear
  • Why do you keep ordering more stuff if it keeps on getting stolen?
