But only once it has actually died presumably?

Indeed. But the reinstatement is only as good as the highways bod insists it is.

I speak to them months in advance and would not for example put HRA in a DBM road. Sadly i'm a rarity. ( Others argue not)

    I call it professionalism.

An HRA in a DBM? Is this some sort of abstruse bit of the rules for playing Mornington Crescent?

Hot rolled asphalt. Dense bitumen macadam.

I spend 5 days every 3 years being educated on that alone.

The next time you see a bloke in hi vis, don't assume he's an idiot. ;)

P.S i'm not having a go. But it right grips my you know what when people think there's no one out there who knows their stuff.

And i work in water not road reinstatement. And i'm only still up because i'm formulating how to dig a pipe under Heathrow's main fuel feed.

People in this country need to start valuing the blokes who serve their infrastructure, End of rant!

I wasn't having a go, apologies if that's the way it read. But I did quite literally have no idea what HRA and DBM are. Mind you I'm not much wiser now that I do know. I have mentally translated it to 'road making stuff has to be appropriate for its purpose', from which you will gather that I have absolutely no practical skills whatsoever.

It's the civil engineering version, I think.

Mind you, it's much nicer than the uncivil version, which has very rude TLAs. ;)

    Why would you?!

    That's the bottom line yes!

    I preferred the MC explanation.

    Tendring District Council rules.

There are some shockers near me.

    1. https://goo.gl/maps/yDTnHzfU6GG2

    2. https://goo.gl/maps/66WCn2ErsP62

    3. https://goo.gl/maps/e1xb1bmxkqD2

The last one is very near me, and every year that big hole gets worse. There are some smaller holes further up (it's only a short road), but they shove loads of bricks in the big one every year and nothing ever gets done about it.

Just be careful that people will pay towards repairs, and that it is actually maintained and is not continually getting worse.

Yup! Just loads of bricks. House bricks. Normal ones. Bricks.

I never drive down there unless absolutely forced by an oncoming car or something.

Bricks. LOL. Madness. I dunno where they all go. Someone either nicks 'em, or they just fall further and further into a deeper hole.

It's like a horror film lol. One day someone will tread on it and disappear...
