According to the dealer it has now been serviced. Yes i believe the previous owner is local but don't know how to get in contact with them?0

Could it just be that it's only had 2 services at official dealerships and others at independent garages. The 'service history' I have is just a piece of paper with 'service history certificate' at the top and minimal info.0

No paper service book with the car, with stamps?0

Not that I've been given..0

the previous owners details will be on the V5
google the name and see if you can find a local match on social media or a phone number and give them a call
it would be interesting to know why the car has a big drop in miles and no dealer service history
it could be that the car has been lovingly serviced on a regular basis by the previous owner but it would be good to see this backed by bills for oil and parts
I have just changed my car and I have reams of bills for every penny I spent on the car but never passed them on to the dealer as many of them have my mobile contact number on them as well as my name and address which is a shame
i did think of crossing out some personal details with a sharpie so that the very comprehensive service and maintenance history i had accumulated could stay with the car
my new car hasnt even got a service book with it which is a bit of a disappointment, but i will still build a folder of bills and receipts for all work i have done to it0 -
Oh dear, buying a car without a decent service history.
force ten: why would you not give them the service history? The V5C will have your name and address anyway? Just cross out the phone number.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Doesn't necessary mean it hasn't had a service, just that it hasn't been recorded....
When I bought my car I was told the previous owner had cambelt replaced but there was no paperwork for it. I replaced it because I wasn't prepared to take that risk.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
As its an early 1.4t do some research into the potential problems with this engine. They use a timing chain and it can fail at low mileages.
Lack of regular oil changes won't make things better.0 -
On the other hand I bought a car with a FSH, every page stamped and it still turned out to be a pile of sh1te.0
