Bottom line, for the remoaners to have confidence in their own country and not constantly bleating that its so weak and pathetic it can't manage without being told what to do by the EU.

Ah I see, you are making a distinction between those who voted remain, and those who voted remain AND are also being negative about the future (because of the result of the vote). But surely that applies to anything, you have to make the best of the situation you find yourself in.

I think we'll be worse off than we otherwise would've been.

I'm not going to start singing Land of Hope and Glory just because my opinion annoys you.

I'd love it to be a positive step, but the problem is I've seen absolutely zero evidence that it will be. Once that changes, I'll be all for it (at long as I can still get visa free travel to Europe).
  • I'm not sure what you mean by 'back Brexit'? the vote is over and Brexit voters won, what is there to 'back'? I voted remain, mainly because we have a fair amount of London property and we are selling a large part of that quite soon, and I thought Brexit might introduce risk to London property prices. Obviously there is no point in dwelling on the past, you have to look forward, not backwards. But it isn't anything about losing the vote (as you suggest) it's about potentially losing money, that said though, I am reasonably happy with how it has gone so far, but it is early days.
Well, no one can accuse you of not voting in your best self interests eh?:rotfl:

    Speak for yourself.

I voted out in an attempt to get our democracy back, that encompasses everyone alive today, the millions who fought and died for that democracy in the first place.
  • If you were starting to sell a £5m London property portfolio and you also thought that Brexit might possibly hinder London property prices, you would have voted remain too.

I would have thought that anyone invested in London property is hardly going to take a 'hit' from Brexit, bearing in mind the amazing appreciation in the value of London real estate over the last few years.

If by 'taking a hit' you mean actually making a loss, then no, of course not, but I didn't invest to merely avoid making a loss.

And that was one of the reasons I voted in. The rest were based around stability, economy and environment.

It occurs to me that it is unlikely those who bemoan the bemoaning of the Remoaners will without moaning accept all the deals being cut between now, March and Brexit that will inevitably fall well short of the promises made ...

... if you see what I mean :O)
