Want to sell my bungalow with online agents

I know where I want to move and regularly drive around the area to have a look, and that's 60 oddmiles from me. I would approach someone with a sign outside if it was what I was after. Looking for a bungalow too! Don't happen to be in Kent do you
No sorry bit too far from you. I am in a small village on the outskirts of Lichfield - staffordshire
It's a really nice bungalow. I'll post the link here when I decide to sell. Waiting to find out next week if I got the job where I am planning on migrating to.
You never know someone closer may want to buy it off me

Of course. The seller is is using Tepilo. I have found them to be fine to deal with and on the occasion I have had to have contact it is generally directly with the seller. On that thought, doing the viewings is the easy bit. You will also have to deal with most of the after sales too. Everything I would normally direct at the sellers EA, I contact the vendor directly. I have a great vendor who I am happy to speak with.
Aah that's sarah beeny's EA - I always enjoyed watching her property programs
Thanks
I will look into them.
My friend recently sold his house through Bairstow estate agent and paid them over 2k for a 110k property sale. And they were absolutely useless.
I worked out mine would be closer to 4k in fees if I sell through a high street EA. I don't fancy that!
Once again:beer:0 -
Lots of online agents now offer accompanied viewings for a fee, and you can pay on completion too. I'll use one next time but will do my own viewings.
Housenetwork and eMoov get good reviews on here usually.

Your friend should have done better research before engaging that outfit.

You don't know exactly what an agent will charge unless you bargain with them. I got 1.5% down to 1% by playing a cheap agent against another. The agent thought my property would sell easily, so they were accommodating.0 -
You might try a private sale ad in your local paper.
You might spread the word about selling among your friends and work colleagues - somebody's grandma might be looking for just such a property.:)0 -
I used house network for a house sale. Can't praise then highly enough. There are plenty of threads on here about the various online agents.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
I've no idea how much they charge, but recently four houses near me have gone up for sale through Yopa. Three are bungalows. One (in my street) is a two bed bungalow that is small and overpriced. One in the next street is a larger bungalow, three beds and the same layout as my mum's, so I know it's quite roomy inside. It's the same price as the first. If it's been modernised, I would say it's a fair price. One (the house) is in the street behind, and seems a fair price, The layout is similar to my house, but has an extension into the roof, giving a fourth bedroom. None have sold yet, despite being on an estate that tends to sell quickly.
The fourth, a three bed bungalow almost identical in layout to the second one I mentioned, has sold after just a few weeks. It's on quite a busy road, but still a decent area where houses sell reasonably quickly. I don't know how much it was up for, so I can't comment on the fairness of the price. It's the only house of the four that people would pass. The others are on an estate with one entrance/exit, so no 'passing trade' for want of a better way of putting it.
FWIW, I would assume from this that Yopa aren't a great company to use, unless you are on a road that has pelnty of traffic.0 -
Although our bungalow was marketed through an agent, we happened to spot it after a (failed) viewing of another property in the same road. It had only just been marketed and wasn't on rightmove yet!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

My personal experience is that online agents can be great and I sold a flat through one in 6 weeks.
A relative has a 550k house that has been on for 12 months now though and they have just appointed a normal high street agent to take over.
Will be interesting to see if the high street agent can succeed where the online one didn't. If so, I'd go so far as to say avoid online agents for houses above a certain price bracket.0 -

More interesting will be whether your relative drops the price... if they do then the no sale probably wasn't due to using an online EA!Every generation blames the one before...
