Well, I've had a very strange day!Her husband had been hit by a car which hadn't stopped and he's now paralysed from the neck down. It may not be permanent but only time will tell. Heartbreaking. She hadn't seen him in 10 days.
The person who organises the volunteer drivers rang me this morning about my Tarbert lady - turns out her story was completely 'once upon a time'! She suffers from dementia, though that wasn't at all obvious. Turns out her husband was driving back from Glasgow and either suffered a stroke and crashed his car or crashed his car and had a stroke! I believed her too. I've not had any experience with those suffering with dementia and we had lovely lucid conversations though now I know most of it was fairy tales. Either way, it's bad!
My cohort were much more willing and engaged this week which meant it was much more enjoyable all round.
The weather has been atrocious, and so early in winter too. My usual route home was closed because of water incursion. One of my joys is driving along parallel to the canal and the other way is so much more boring.
Speky - congratulations. A huge weight must have been lifted from your shoulders.
Tea time here.0 -
Well done Speky!
Back from dentist minus small shard of bone or root or whatever, plus frozen face but wearing off so I will have some soup in a bit. Hurts a bit, not too bad.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

BB - thank you for your kind suggestion re the hospice, Mum is under the palliative team from her local one but would rather be in her own home with suitable help so that is what we are working towards.0
