  • Good morning chums,

This morning I got paid and my grans cheque cleared which means....today is my debt free day!!! What a journey it's been over the last 2 years and I've had a lot important lessons learned. Lessons and good habits that will stick with me for life now.

Yesterday I visited the gym after work then went over to my GF''s and watched GBBO. Still in the MSE sweepstake, come on Tom!!!

Tonight I have a boxing dinner which I've been invited to and for some strange reason, I am at the top table along with some football 'legends' such as Andy Goram, Murdo Macleod and Hugh Keevans. Not sure why I'm at the top table but I'll take it and enjoy the night. So I'll changed in work then get a taxi over, leave my car here over night and collect it tomorrow - which means public transport in the morning!!!!

Hester - Hope you feel better soon.
Camelot - I had the bedroom windows open last night so I could hear the wind and rain. I love hearing that a night while I'm all tucked up.
    AoD - Good luck today.
Gers - What a day you had yesterday and such a sad set of circumstances too.
  • Speky I bet you are so pleased to be debt-free at last, enjoy your evening with a clear conscious :):):) great to hear that you are so focussed now and life will now just get better and better for you

    JackieO xx
  • Hello Lovelies

Hugs and positive vibes for those who need them - much love and light to those in a dark place, keep going (I know I say this every morning but I mean it xx). Extra goodness sent to Hester and Gers (and Coxy - you have a fab time with DD - remember to put your feet up and cut the plug off the dishwasher with those secateurs lol).

Still feeling a bit grim - on the couch downstairs at 3.40am because I couldn't breathe through my nose and woke myself up with the snoring!

Supposed to be dry today - hoping the wind will dry the washing I have lined up to be done. Also need to finish putting back all the stuff I needed to move for CH man on Monday. I'll do this and defrost the little freezer in the cellar and call it done. My timer will be red hot!!

Hope everyone has a good, productive and peaceful day - or gin-o-clock by 11am LMAO. Take care and be good to yourselves xxxxx

    Morning all,

Very blustery here and showers but I kept dry while walking Ly1a.She nearly dragged my arm from its socket cos she spotted a tennis ball in the grass then carried it in her mouth all the way home-she does love a ball :D but sadly for her I had to stop taking one on our walks as she started being very stiff after resting. She is fine now so I think all the charging around was too much for such a big pooch.

We had the electrician here yesterday doing some lights in the cellar, and Dh has just been for some plasterboards to board the steps and ceiling down there so a bit nearer. He reckons if we get more water in it wont reach the ceiling-hope hes right ;)

My afternoon at school later, didnt go last week because of my cold. Then tonight we are off into Manchester to watch our godson and his band play. His dad is picking us up so relatively cheap night.

    Speky- thats great news,well done!
RRuby-glad you like the logburner,we put 2 in here and they make a big difference. We dont tend to have both lit as it gets too hot apart from when its very cold in winter. We have the advantage of free wood for this winter too, ready and waiting in the logstore :D

Lainey glad to hear your DM can leave hospital at last.
HH,just the sound of your workplace makes me fume,no wonder youre stressed.
    Coxy-Men :rotfl:
    Gers-poor couple :(
Tru,hope youre enjoying your holiday and Scampi is being good :)
Right DH has got the power tools out so I think I'll leave the kitchen-hope you all have a good day xx

Well done Speky, I remember our debt free day and we were a lot older than you.

Coxy, it's odd how they somehow need new stuff for every activity isn't it?

I'm still trying to keep DH on a leash to stop him overdoing it - not on housework mind you, but he's paranoid about losing fitness. i persuaded him to go for a swim instead of a walk yesterday and am trying to make him have a rest day today. He's been much better for it and hasn't had to take any painkillers for two days. He thinks I'm over cautious but I know from bitter experience that you can cause set backs by pushing yourself unnecessarily.

We went down to the new M & S which was opening in the next twn, only 3 miles away but didn't stop as the car park was rammed and we could see a huge queue of people waiting to get into the store, they obviously were having to stop people going in until others left.

    Snoozer, which town is that?

    Well done Speky :T:T

Hester take care of yourself, take a few sick days and see if they can cope without you......which we all know they won't ((((Hugs))))) xx

It has turned into a lovely drying day so I have lots of washing on the line.

Shopping this morning so have now put it all away apart from four packs of mince from Aldi which where £1.49 500g so £2.98 a kilo :j I can easily get four meals from a kilo if I pad it out with lots of veg, beans or lentils, so I am going to make 2 mince cobblers (one for tonight and one to freeze, 1 spag bol, 1 Lasagne, 1 mince and dumplings,1 mince and veg pie, 1 Meatloaf and a cottage pie. I am trying to build up a stock of meals that the family can have when I go in for my op and so I don't have to put up with DH's fry ups when I get home :rotfl::rotfl:
Saves on Electric as well because I will fill the oven :D
Got a hankering to make some jam tarts as well:rotfl:

Medium chickens are down to £2.99 so I got three of them as well. 2 have been jointed and put into the freezer and one is for dinner on Sunday with the leftovers on Monday and a good stock from the carcass for soups and stews.

An old work friend turned up last night, it was great catching up and he was here for a good couple of hours. He went as I was dishing up dinner because he didn't realise what the time was and would have copped it from his missus if he was late for his :rotfl:

Evidently there is a works reunion on the cards so he wanted me to let the others who worked there know, sadly six of the original crowd have died, but I am in touch with a lot of the others.

Gers, that was so kind of you :Axxx

Lainey, your Mum will be pleased to be in her own surroundings with the family about. Have you been in touch with your local hospice? They really helped my SIL in her last six months with pain relief and respite care when she was near to the end. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Ruby :D It's great isn't it, I love mine especially when there is snow on the ground and we are all snuggled up in the living room with hot chocolate

Must get on and start cooking
    BFN xx
