Virgin mobile- does anyone get a signal at all.

Options
I have virgin phone and broadband am am very happy. I decided to go with them for my mobile 2 months ago but have had nothing but trouble when at home with no signal. At work it's fine but where I need it most is useless. I have so far spent about 3 hours on the phone to them on different occasions. I have had new sim, a total reset but still no signal. I was told they use EE towers but ee tell me they use their old towers. I just happened to pass a virgin shop today and couldn't get a signal there either. Just 200 yds down the road my phone works fine but that's not much good to me

Is it just my location here or do other people get no signal of any network on their virgin phone?

I used to get a very good signal with Virgin Mobile, but left them because they were far too expensive on PAYG. I'm now with 3, but the signal, although adequate, isn't as strong as Virgin's was. I guess every network has weak spots. I know that 2 miles up the road from my house, I could get no signal from Virgin at all.

Yes they do use EE (3G only) and I'm happy with the reception.

Who were you with before ? Someone can then suggust the best value operator for your old network
  • sadly i am tied in with them for 18 months!! I have been with Vodaphone and briefly 02 and got great signals on both, I was lured in my virgins cheap deal and now am stuck with it for the time being

    Its your location .
4 VM phones in various parts of the UK all working fine on VM .
  • As above; it's your location.
We have one sim-only for DW; only EE gets a reliable signal in the depths of her work; Voda & O2 are variable & Three none at all, ever.

I would still have a go at getting out of the contract. due to poor signal.

    It's worth a go
