Tesco - Petrol Stations - Cost of Air

I'd say free is cheap enough given the amount we pay at the likes of Tescos etc. I can understand the franchised stations charging but if others, such as Sainsburys can do the service for free I can't see why Tesco can'tiolanthe07 wrote: »and 50p is cheap enough.0 -
I use the one at ASDA for 20p and I manage to do 4 tyres in that time.
I'd say it's good value for money. I also have a foot pump for emergencies and one of those cheap £5 compressors off eBay but it's not worth the time and effort.0 -
I have a footpump (twin barrel) but rarely use it. Even a cheap old track pump like my 20-year-old Zefal is easier to use. With the footpump, my thighs ache long before my back aches with the bike pump!If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

A fair chunk of the population, probably the majority and possibly the vast majority, will barely check tyres, as well as oil and water, between annual services.
Some won't even get the annual services.
I resemble that remark
I occasionally check my tyres and oil but tend to leave it until the service (about every 3 months)
Must try harder
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
Let's say that your tyre has a normal load cold inflation pressure of 35psi. It's 15% underinflated so the tyre pressure is 29.75psi. We have a cold snap and the pressure will drop by 2-3 psi. Your tyre is now running at 28psi increasing fuel consumption, the steering will be woolly and the sidewalls will get hotter from high speed running.
All you need is a cheap pencil gauge and a cheap footpump to save money. The man without a signature.0
