Unless it's a separate, standalone garage? (Highly unlikely, but ... )

Some people like chrome finish sockets rather than bog standard white plastic ones. Even so, they're dead easy to fit anyway.
Simple wiring.
I get that but from what i can see it's a screwdriver and four screws per socket. Plus the cost of your chosen fascia?0 -
Yes, I've swopped chrome sockets for white myself. Definitely an easy DIY job.
Just think it through.., the house builder wants to make as much money as possible out of the sale.., they never supply extra's at cost. There will always be a profit margin.., sometimes the items add up to twice the cost of you doing it yourself or with a tradesperson. Get the prices, then start looking at the actual cost of easy items like the carpet (get the name of the carpet). Then find out the actual cost of the carpet, ask around for costs of a carpet fitter. Then you'll know how much extra you are paying to have it done in the new build.0 -
Damn i read it wrong. Now one of these would be an extra.

I'm using Chrome on a PC. I got the 403 at home, and again here at work.
Looks like it's a Chrome thing ... perhaps to do with an Extension? I've just tried the same link in IE and it works fine. Weird indeed.0 -

Wow that is so expensive!:jFinally going to be a homeowner:T0 -
I brought eletric towel rail on Ebay and paid an eletrician to install em.. 130 for the towel rail and 60 quid for the eletrician to instal em. Do the plug sockets yourself thou word of advice i recommend turning the power off.. i learnt the hard way! i was fine the screw driver went flying and power went. he he.0

I guess the sense I am getting from this forum is that it is cheaper to get it done myself rather than through the developer!

I am of the opinion that it if it is anything that will require making holes in walls, I would pay the extra for the builder to do it as I would rather that than the mess and damage to the previously untouched walls. They can run all cables before putting up the plasterboard. I got extra sockets fitted, TV points, phone points and network cabling installed by the builders.
My 2 pence on what I would do:
- Upgrading Plug Sockets If you mean adding more sockets, yes. There are never enough. If you mean the socket plates, don't bother
- Fitted Wardrobes No
- Shower in Main Bathroom and extension of Tiling Yes
- Ceramic floor tiles in both bathrooms No
- Access door to garage Yes
- Power light to Garage Yes
- Shower screen in main bathroom Maybe - if they damage the tiles while drilling they'll have to fix it, otherwise you will be responsible
- Chrome Towel radiators I wouldn't bother, they always put in awful cheap ones anyway. Upgrade later.
- TV points to bedrooms. Yes0
