I shall keep my eyes open for the donation thread. When I read that they had broken for lunch I was sure it must have gone her way. MOT I cannot believe they could do this to you and the twins - there is absolutely no justice in this world, I'm so sorry.0

Absoloutly disgusting, this is terrible.
What does MOT do now, didnt she say her solicitors have a plan if this happens.
I am in shock, poor MOT and children.
Ive got to go out now, MOT if you come here tonight I hope you are ok, im so sorry. They are a gang of heartless barstewards!0 -
Oh no.I wasn't being rude about Martin at all-what with all the publicity and all he might just be able to help.I know he can't help everyone but when a story captures DFW so much you wonder if there is anything he can do at all- it is after all an extraordinary story - perhaps he can use it to highlight how unfair the system can be to people in genuine need. Just wish there was something I could do to help MOT and the twins and IT.Making my money go further with MSE :j

I feel so saddened by this. We need further details as to why it was a unanimous no - but, (and I do know we are all biased!) I can't for the life of me understand how they can seriously believe she made herself intentionally homeless. She suffered a big upheaval due to Buncefield, which led her to having to find alternative accommodation. Things went downhill and she was able to receive some Housing Benefit - it seems that whilst MOT has done all she can to feed and look after her children, the councils view is that it would have been better to pay the rent, live in squalor, without food, heating, electricity etc etc. I may be wrong here - but I am firmly of the belief that MOT handled herself in the correct way - protecting her children, had she not have done though it seems she would have had every assistance. Is this truely the way "Draconian" Council believes she should have behaved.
I don't have very much money, but I would happily give a little to help with a deposit. I feel awful that a woman fallen on hard times in this day and age is called intentionally homeless because she chose to feed and clothe and protect her children. Toto, whether it is legal or not I don't know, but it's not right is it. I mean how on earth can you find somewhere that quickly, raise the funds, arrange your removals, sign all the paperwork etc. A week would have been short notice, 1 working day is appalling.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

As we are all so outraged for MOT and the twins, can we keep the pressure up, with the help of MOT's brief, and pressure to get this intentionally homeless law changed/reviewed? Even if we have to go to the European Court of Human Rights.
Remember on previous posts before Christmas MOT said that DBC had other families to evict? Does Gordon Brown know about this outrage?Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -
I think it's absolutely disgraceful that they can do this.. what kind of sick country do we live in?
