  • Did anyone watch Eastenders tonight? Very pertinent situation with Billy & Council wallah. I've been on Eastenders & he's a nice guy. I'm sure we will have a great weekend with MOT's sister & B in L at my place. He is a great laugh and has the same sense of humour as me. We all end up in hysterics when he comes. Played Charades last time and was enjoying ourselves so much we didn't get to bed until the wee small hours.

Adam was a bit angry when he came out of school but we've had a talk and lots of hugs then kisses which made him squirm and laugh so he's feeling better now! Felicity too has been very huggy today (she's less affectionate) so this evening has been lovely with the twins and I do feel better now!

    Hi Viv,

Yes we have the Mayors Recovery Fund which the HHG put me in touch with. Have been trying to get hold of them all week, then she rang when I was in the supermarket! So we will be speaking on Tuesday morning.

I think I have clicked who 'Vicky' from the HHG unsuitable comment on the Your Say page was - judging from the reactions of a boy at school today to Felicity I suspect it was his mother:mad:

The teachers sent the twins out of the clasroom today and gave the rest of the pupils a 'talking to' about how difficult our situation is - they were left in no uncertain terms as to what would happen to them if they were unkind to the twins!!

I can't believe any of us here thought in this direction for ONE SECOND.
Oh Felicity:A , Adam:A - can you bear being squeezed to bits even more by huggiewuggies(thanks RussieWussieBrandieWandie) from here?

Or, more to the point Adam, kettle practice, Sir (black lapsang, commit to memory). And Felicity, what on Earth did the boy think he was doing? I hope I misread this - hope he apologised to you for his Mum, if it were she.
You DO realise, I think, that so many children DO NOT HAVE the very interesting, warm, intelligent, emotionally secure upbringing which Mum and IT bring to you. It's a fantastic future groundwork for you - you might decide to teach, you might work with families, you might be a Mum and a Dad one day.
You'll always know when someone needs you as a friend - and you'll be loyal, great friends.
This is just a given for you - it wouldn't matter how you were situated - this constant, enviable framework, with all its benefits of real friendship(sometimes too rare between parents and children)and easy laughter, shared pastimes, company mutually enjoyed.
    YOU ARE SO LUCKY!
Last day tomorrow, then last week, then - yippee!

Another book for the box, then, mot - thankyou.
    Charades - envy, envy.
Brenda and I were just reminiscing, a quiet 70/30 or three - one supposes it was 'Last Party at the Palace' that started one orf. Weren't the new crop ghastly? How times have moved on - but so do we. We're having McDo's at Sandringham this year. I don't speak it at all, but the young ones are fluent. Remarkable, quite remarkable.

If nothing else comes out of this nightmare at least you have found out who your friends are! I have often wondered about my lot who would be there for me in a crisis so I think its good for you to know especially as most people seem to have been brilliant to you. This can't go on much longer I guess you must be nearer the end than the beginning. Keep your chin up Viv XX

Don't even waste time thinking about this. (a) they are not worth it (b) you don't start analysing all the positive comments and wonder who they may be (c) the nice comments outweigh the one bad.

You are quite right silvercar - but it is hard not to let a negative comment, or the reaction from the boys father the other night when I rang to ask him to have some consideration to our situation after his son had been verbally unkind to DS, play on my mind to such an extent when it becomes the only thing I focus on. It makes me wonder how many others there are locally who are judging:confused: My friend,J, yesterday said to not worry what they may think - she said that she knows, I-T knows, you all know and I know exactly what the reason for me being in this situation and that it could happen to anyone.

Ampersand thank you for such a Christmassy message for the twins - they have their class Christmas parties today so hopefully they will have a good time. DD's friends are very supportive but I'm not sure about DS's as he doesn't cope so well with the uncertainty of everything.
