I received the same email as all the other Tescos customers, however, I've just checked on line and my statement has been produced - how long do we have to wait for the email telling us its available on line?

    Hello there
I never did get an email telling me mine was waiting online for me, so missed the deadline, - then they sent me a paper statement the following month with late payment charge. I was advised I had to visit the site to tick a box to get notification. If this thread stops one more person getting caught out it will have been worth it.

  • Tesco have not fully changed to e-Statements yet as there was a problem everybody should still be getting paper statements!

If you want to continue receiving paper statements just go online & click onto your personal details & click 'paper statements'. It's as simple as that.

Tesco informed all customers by email & a website notice that from August 2007 they would only be issuing e-statements. My August statement was due to be prepared on the 17th of the month so in the early hours of that day I clicked the 'paper statement' option & received one through the post as normal.

They also sent an update email on 30th August:

UPDATE: We are making some changes to the terms and conditions that relate to your Tesco Credit Card. The details of these changes will be included as a special insert enclosed with your September paper statement.

We recently emailed you to let you know that we would be turning off your paper statement. However, for the time being we'll continue to send you paper statements and will not switch to eStatements until later this year.

    Paper Statement or eStatements
We think eStatements make sense for all of us. However, if you prefer paper statements it's easy to change back. We'll email you when we switch you to eStatements, but will give you clear instructions on how to keep your paper statements.
  • This has just happened to me aswell. I have a cc with them for about 5 years and when i found out that i could check me details on-line i registered with their website about a year ago...

Even though i'm registered on-line with them, it's not a web only CC, so i had no need to go online and check my purchases with them.

So, this month i get my Morgan Stanley bill through, and think to myself thats strange whats happened to my Tesco statements. So for the first time since the end of July i go online to check my CC statment and find i have missed my Aug payment.

Did i recieve any warning, i'm not aware i did. When i phoned they told me they had written to everyone concerned and it's up to me to pay the bill wether i get a statement or not...

Luckily i pay the min every month so i just have interest added to my Sept statement of about £7...I have paid my bill off on-time every month for 5 years, i feel like i have been duped slighlty.

Did they really write to everyone ? Is this my fault ?

    *UPDATE*

After writting a letter of complaint Tesco have refunded me my interest charge for the missing month......
  • There's a really useful function on the Tesco CC website that allows you to set up email or text message alerts when your bill is due. Mine is set up to email and text me 7 days before the bill is due (but you can change this to whatever timing you like), so why not use these then you'll always be aware of when it needs to be paid.

I really like the functionality of the online service for Tesco CC, its just a shame that the credit limit they have given me is so ridiculously low that I have to pay something off the card each week to be able to keep it under the limit and even then I occasionally go over it or have payments rejected.

It surprises me that anyone gets caught out simply because an expected paper statement didn't arrive in a particular month. Statement dates don't change (most of the time) even if the method of delivery does. Add 15 (or 25) or whatever number of days you are on and you know when you need to have paid something to Tesco by.

The only excuse for not knowing is forgetting that you have used this card in the previous month where you would have paid the bill in full. It's hardly an excuse where you've been carrying a balance and making regular minimum payments. The payment (to avoid charges) doesn't even need a statement to be produced. You could have standing order (for a sufficient fixed amount) or - better - a direct debit set up for minimum payments.

This is really about the OP's lack of organisation rather than anything Tesco has (or has failed) to do

    (Just my opinion)
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
