Morning :hello:
Good luck to DD redruby! x
JackieO I like the IOW, haven't been for years though. Always stayed in Shanklin. Blackgang Chine was a favourite
We've stayed in so many great places in Cornwall, we just got unlucky with this one. The owner is nice enough, I just think he doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
tiredmum I've already thrown the tickets away. !!!!!!
I've found a website with the updated times and have made a note of the ones I want to visit. Most have free parking too, mostly because there's nothing else nearby, lol.
RosyRed Poor LylaHow long is the work going on for?
LameWolf I would prefer that mr tru doesn't come next time (you know how bad he is with Scampi!) so it's just you, me and the dog
snoozer Those photos are stunning!
It rained yesterday. And rained and rained! Managed a trip to Lizard Point, then bought a pasty and ate it in the car with a sea view. Also went to Roskilly's, I was worried about Scampi kicking off when he spotted the farm animals (I started him off from a distance) but he was good, just a grumble at another dog. Roskilly's is a must, they make the most amazing ice-cream. A scoop of strawberry and a scoop of chocolate together – heaven!
It was really cold last night, so I crossed my fingers and held my breath when I flicked the heating on. It worked, I was amazedIt was windy and heavy rain all evening and it was so cosy inside. It's not raining at the moment but the sky is very grey, I fancy a wander round St Ives but not sure that's a good idea with Scampi. Might get mr tru to drop me off and he can drive a bit further to a dog beach.

Morning everyone.
I slept so long again, I suspect it's too much bread making me dopey. Nor a scientific fact just in my own head! I don't usually eat bread so will stop again.
Dumpling - it's lovely to hear you being so positive and losing weight.
Camelot - hope you get a date for your kitchen soon.
I'm so glad I managed to 'cut' the grass yesterday as the rain tipped down shortly afterwards and hasn't stopped since. Same with the white washing load.
No idea what today will bring. I need to do a wee trip to Tarbert to find an address I need on Wednesday.
I hope everyone enjoys Tuesday.0 -
Weather still quite good in Kent at the moment no rain at all, even got a patch of blue sky in the distance
(that's definitely put the mokkers on it now
:):))
My friend came yesterday from Dartford and we had a good chinwag about life ,kids, grandkids and everything as usual.:) She left me a bag of stuff to drop off at the local Demelza charity shop.We both help support the children's hospice locally to me.
Not a great deal on today I could nip up to the U3A coffee morning later as I still have a free coffee voucher left for this month as its held in Dobbies. Only a small bit of ironing to knock out first though. No food shopping to get and I have enough left over boiled gammon from yesterday's small joint to make something for lunch today I found this bit at the bottom of my freezer, and defrosted it and cooked it overnight yesterday for our lunch and it was delicious, lots of left over bitsprobably do today with some salad, and tomorrows lunch with bits and a couple of diced mushrooms in in an omelette, four meals from a Y/S bit of gammon from Christmas that only cost me £1.99
:):) my kind of bargain.
Quiz night tonight so I don't have to cook dinner as I get something included with the quiz price ,another bargain as its only £2.00.Last week we had a huge jacket spud with baked beans
Hope all is well with folk on here today.
Dumpling you are doing really well honey and I'm sure we are all rooting for you.
Lainey what a pain your ex is, every day is important for you all, just grit your teeth and ignore him.
right time to get my self in gear and get the kettle on
Have a great day chums, what ever you are doing, enjoy it

Dumpling, well done on going out and the low carbing. I've been amazed at the difference low carbing has made to my general health.
Lainey, how annoying - I remember when mum was in hospital how difficult it was juggling to make sure she had visitors every day.
DH had a bad day yesterday with his kidney stone/stent and was driving me mad. That sounds horrible but he has always been extremely healthy and every ache is seen as a major problem and he can't understand why he feels so tired now. I told him that it was inevitable that it would catch up with him, having an op with general anaesthetic on a Saturday, out of hospital on Monday afternoon, driving three days across Europe, having son's wedding and then driving back is not the best treatment. I told him he's been keeping going on adrenalin and now his body has slumped a bit.
One thing I hope is that he will now realise that I can't just think myself well and that exercise is not the cure all he thinks it is. He isn't unsympathetic to my health problems but I do get the feeling from him that I should be able to overcome them with will power.
Thank you for the compliments about the wedding pics, I'm sure you can tell how proud I am of my handsome son for those who might be interested the photographer of DD's wedding a year ago yesterday posted the photos on her blog here - see below.
I have a baby quilt to finish today and another to start so the houswork will be minimal today.
Sorry - that was the wrong link I've just realised, it should be http://www.babbphoto.com/west-lexham-wedding-norfolk/0 -
PS - my breakfast poached egg woes are gone...I found this idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p633fYhNyqw&feature=youtu.be
tried it and found it to work beautifully! No more straggly bit of egg or me pan or any such nonsense. I do like a poached egg but found it difficult to do properly.
Just had avocado and poached egg for the first time in ages - happy Gers!
Wind is blowing a hooley outside but, out I must go.
Great pics snoozer - both sets!0 -
Good morning chums,
Yesterday was terribly quiet in work as it was a bank holiday. I'm still getting to grips with things, so I wasn't even able to use my initiative and com up with something to do. Anyway, that'll come with time.
After work I went home and prepped dinner then went to badminton, came back and made the dinner. The GF and I sat down to crimewatch and a bit of rubbish TV and we were soon falling asleep.
Today looks horrid outside. It now officially feels like Autumn, which is actually my favourite season.
Work today followed by the gym then my friends coming over. We've moved it from our usual Thursday slot as my GF has college in the evening then so it allows us more time together. Brownie points.
The cheque from my gran cleared my account this morning, so when I'm out at lunch I'll make a call and get the CC paid. Can't wait.
Dumpling - A huge well done. Hope today goes well too
redruby - Fingers are crossed!
Jakie - "put the mokkers on it", never heard that before. Is that like jynxing it?0 -

Lainey ex's can be a real pain in the behind; when Mr LW's DSis1 died, back in 2010, he got a call from his DSis2 to warn him that his ex - known to us as QBOTU - ie Queen B!tch Of The Universe - had invited herself to the funeral, for absolutely no good reason, as she and DSis1 had never been at all close, and DSis2 couldn't stand her. We came to the inevitable conclusion that she was there for the sole purpose of stirring up trouble, so Mr LW decided that we wouldn't go.In the end, we lit a candle, and sat looking into the flame, and saw her safely on her Journey that way.

Grey but dry here today so I have taken a risk and put some washing out.
Just got to sort out car insurance online today and post a letter.
Hester, sounds like a day from hell (((Hugs)))
Lainey, how thoughtless for them not to let you know that they couldn't get there
Dumpling, well done :T
Snoozer those photos are beautiful :T
Had a lovely meal at the windmill in Milton Keynes last night, we haven't been for a few years because the standard of food went right down. They seem to have got their act together now, apart from not having any gammon left and we were looking forward to a mixed grill, but what we decided on was hot and cooked to perfection, and the staff were great.
Redruby I am another one. thinking of doing a spag bol tonight.........great minds and all that :rotfl:
Right off to go to the post office, do the insurance and then an afternoon of making Christmas pressies is on the cards
BFN xxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
