I'm just glad that councils don't work this way, its bordering on illegal.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I had appealed and IAS rejected on arbitration. Now I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus. I had sent a recorded letter to the carpark company saying that I wanted to see them in court and I received this letter instead and they have now added another £60 to the amount bringing it to £149.00. The pictures which the car park company supplied show my windscreen with sun reflecting so brightly that you can't even see inside the window. I was reversing to in the picture to get out of the car park. You can clearly see that I am not even parked in between the lines. Do I sit on it and wait for a court date, do I write to the debt collectors to say take me to court? Will it affect my credit rating? That is my biggest concern. I felt the amount was well inflated for turning around. I was only there as a tenant had asked our company to come to them and said it was okay to park. I tried to ring to find out where to park. Can you please reassure me that the debt collector cannot not affect my credit rating?0

You are asking questions already answered on this forum hundreds of times. Have you missed reading post #4 of the NEWBIES thread (all about 'ignore the debt collectors letters' and this one too?

HTH - ignore debt collectors.
Nope, as long as court papers or deadlines are not ignored. Will it affect my credit rating?
You can see how commonly a particular PPC tries court, by Google searching 'BMPA insight into' then the name of the firm.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Once you have read the NEWBIES thread, please start your own thread if you need further help. However, the NEWBIES explains why it is safe to ignore debt collectors so we don't need or want to hear any more about them about them.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
