Windows 10 updates - not getting any?

Options
I don't seem to be getting any of the windows 10 updates that people are complaining about.

Not bothered and not complaining about not getting them but wonder why

Are you sure. Windows 10 updates happen 'silently' in the background. In the search box type 'Windows Update' and look at 'Update History'.

Anniversary Update is big (3GB) and is being deployed in slow time...it'll get there... unless it is deemed to be incompatible with your computer.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

After typing in Windows update, there isn't an option for update history. There is an option for Check updates available and when I click that there is a list.

Just had a thought. I have got it set to metered connection, perhaps that is why I am not getting the big updates?

That list is probably your available updates then. Do you have it set to download updates and ask me when to install them? (Don't know if that is possible with 10, I'm still on 7).

Both my computers got the big update in the last few days. I was feeling left out too but I'm happy now.;)
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Yes, to stop Windows 10 updates set metered connection on. You can also stop the Windows Update service in Task Manager - I think that stops the updates completely, but not 100% certain on that one.

My main Win 10 machine only got the big "anniversary" update at the weekend, having had almost nothing for a good few weeks. Another I don't use very often got some others over the weekend, but is still on 1511.
With metered connection on, it should stop the big one from coming through though.

  • I installed Windows 10 on 25th July and got the Anniversary update last night.

Obviously a big weekend as my desktop also received 1607 fully a month after my laptop.
