Neighbours climbing frame - what are my options?

  • Could you get some very large pots/troughs to grow plants in, this would also add to the height of the plants and could be placed up against the wall?

    Thanks, that's another good idea.

Plants are a nice idea but could you not fix some of that willow screening stuff you buy in a roll to the railings? You might need a double thickness and how tall you can go would probably depend on the height of the railings but you could add a few sturdy pieces of wood at intervals. If the railings are on your wall, I don't think the neighbour could reasonably object to you fixing things to them even if he paid for them - you could, after all, ask him to remove the railings completely.

Thanks rach_k, the neighbour already did this before he built the platform! Presumably to stop anyone looking into their garden, so quite ironic really. The railings are short and he's filled them in with willow screening but the platform is above the railings (looking at it again last night the platform sits about 5' off the ground and a kid standing on it then towers over the wall.

I think the only option we have apart from complaining to the council is to go down the mature hedge route, it's an instant fix.

  • Maybe have a subtle conversation about 'those poor kids being taken by social services because their parents couldn't control them' on your next pass through ? Might put the fear of God into them and keep them indoors for a bit ;) on the upside Winter is coming !

Yeah, I've lived next door to a moron family and my jet of water when watering the garden used to go amiss sometimes.
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Surely you're not suggesting that the children might respond differently if they had a better relationship with the OP?

You'll be telling us they're just like people next!

That's what I do when I've had enough of other peoples children screaming ( playing they say) outside of my house. Funnily they rarely play outside of their own. I found they quickly disappear with Berlioz.
