Sky Instalation

Hi all,
I have sky broadband due to be installed on the 27th.
The Router locked today with downstream: 312K and Upstream 540K. My actual speeds are half that. I have no voice/dial tone.
Sky contacted a few days ago to confirm installation date, but I've seen reports of the line being connected some 3-7 days before this. I don't quite see why the service would go live otherwise, the router has been in place for the last two weeks and never synced before.
Does this mean I have a problem, or could it simply be the case of the line having been connected at the central, but not fully connected to my house?
