Hi all
I believe I have fallen for a scam email.
It was an email that requested details:
Name
DoB
Email
mobile number
Address
How concerned should I be? it didn't ask for any bank details but I am really worried!

Why did you reply? What are the exact contents of the email?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

It was an email that looked to be from British Airways for a competition.
It was a link that you clicked. I clicked the link using an i-phone (not a pc)0 -
i would not be too concerned.
Most info can be obtained quite easy via electoral register etc and you have not provided any sensitive info.
At worst you might get some email or calls to the mobile number you gave from marketing companies.0 -

If you wouldn't walk round on the street giving out these details to strangers then don't do it from unknown sources online.0 -

A bit extreme don't you think?
If you never gave your name and address to someone you didn't know you would never get any post.
The postman knows your name and address and you don't know the people you give your card to in a shop or online when you buy something.
Keep wearing the tinfoil hat.0 -

It's OK we all make fools of ourselves every now and then, just make yourself a cuppa and reflect.0 -
so someone has your name, address and DOB.
Why is that a risk?
They can also email you but not log into your account.
They can also call you but not activate anything sent to your mobile number.
Please explain the risk and how it could affect you?

OP, you may want to look at taking out CIFAS protective registration:

Except that those are almost all components requires for committing identity theft on someone, the remaining ones can be easily gathered by mail snatching or dumpster diving at your, now know, address. Additionally, phone number (and those details) can be used by scammers to call, for example, your mobile company and extract even more information about you.
Should we be paranoid and never give anyone our address or phone number? Of course not. But we should also be anxious if scammers got hold of our complete details, as they are making money of this type of criminal activity, which means that they know how to use it.0 -
Then please post those details here, they don't matter right, and no one can do anything sinister with them, right?

its not clear if the BA thing is a scam or not.
If I gave you my name and address and mobile number do you honestly think you could get more info from my mobile provider about me?
How would you answer the security questions?
Are you saying I could open a BT phone book and look at any page to get someone's name, address and phone number and BT would give me their bank details etc if I rang them lol0
