Where does it say this? I can't see any announcement on the website...

  • Its not on the website!
You will get a letter confirming the new 3.5% rate.

Had been waiting for this to happen!
Could be worse though, I thought they would half the rate to 2%!

I was expecting a cut to 2% at some point also. I think 3.5% is still competitive in the current climate.

  • 3.5% is better than I was fearing. Had my letter yesterday.

Got my letter today. A decrease in rates is never good news but I can live with 3.5%. Was also fearing that it would soon go down to 2% to match the rate currently offered on this product by Halifax.
  • Autumn statement next month. Wonder if there will be any changes announced to any of the "help to buy" strategies....
I am hoping the £250k limit for property purchase will be lifted for the HTB ISA, the scheme is becoming redundant in many areas in the south of England where this amount cannot buy you a starter home.

There have been a number of similar complaints about property values but I find it hard to believe that the state of the market is significantly different from where it was last year when the HTB ISA scheme was being set up....
