Oh my goodness guys - how awesome is it reading through this thread?!! So many people hitting their debt-free targets! I won't be one of them for this year but feeling uber-positive about my journey so far. Me and the OH have already dubbed 2017 - THE BIG YEAR! (We give every year a silly tagline, 2016 was 'The Year of Drive & Focus' :rotfl:)
I've even convinced him to transfer to a 0% Barclaycard so he can clear his debt too (which is mostly from the mess the building company going bust left us in). We're getting there slowly but surely. :j
Continuing with the busting I've chucked my usual payments to the PCDL and £100 to the Barclaycard so new totals in my sig!
I've also just swapped energy deals to a fixed deal before my auto-renew, and next year will look to changing Bank Account and being rid of Lloyds (don't want to do it now as Dec wages are normally paid early)! Huzzah! :money:
I've sold a couple of unwanted birthday presents on eBay so will continue accruing those monies - and about to hit £100 cashback with Quidco. Am going to try and leave these amounts where they are so I'm not tempted to dip into them over Xmas.
Talking of which, just seen the amount I owe my mum in my sig - am going to see her this weekend and offer the amount to her as an Xmas pressie - which may not count as a debt is a debt, not a gift. But she's after dollars for a big holiday with my dad next year so I can but offer.
Anywho, keep with the debt-busting guys - immensely proud of you all (and you lurkers too)! Toasting you all with a glass of something mulled and a mince pie. Muppets - HUGE THANKS for running (2) threads this year and keeping us all on track - absolute super star considering you were planning a wedding too - huge congratulations to you!
Much love,
L. xx

Had a very good day.
My car came to the end of its lease, and the guys came to pick it up this morning and inspect it. I'd read all sorts of horror stories about £1k+ bills for fairly minor dings and scratches. Mine had a fair few little bits, and I was expecting a reasonable invoice. I'd put a line in the sand in my head of £500, above which I'd send them away and get it all repaired myself.
After half an hour poring over the car, the grand total came to... £0! Jackpot!0 -
