Beating it from £2 to £1.71. Superb victory there.
What to spend the 29p on at the airport!!!Legal team on standby0 -
What with this and Luton's rip off drop off charge (just for stopping for 60 seconds) I'd say, generally avoid Luton flights if you can.0

What a whinge! If you can afford to fly, you can afford to pay for the airport facilities. After all, if they didn't make money from trollies they would charge the airlines more, putting up air fares.0

Is life not too short for trivia such as this. Scraping the barrel here MSE!!0

If people can afford to fly and have baggage/nice clothes to wear once they're there.... £2's not really an issue for them.0

With all the construction at LTN at the moment, you're talking about a 150-200m walk each way for the drop off point to get your free trolley (if available) from check in. I guess if you have loads of time and it's not raining or freezing (the drop off point is uncovered), it is money saving...I could probably think of easier ways to save £2 though.
The terminal drop off fee can be avoided by using the mid term car park drop off, again if you have the time.
They undoubtedly make a lot of money from the drop off and probably a fair amount from trollies, plus the large numbers of people I see at security who have to buy plastic bags for liquids at (I think) £1 for 2.
It doesn't bother me as I agree the alternative is higher landing charges which means higher fares, but LTN does manage to do it in a particularly charmless manner. All the same, I find it quite an efficient airport to use, except for the drop off fee I avoid the charges, and the fares are usually good for my routes on easyJet.0 -

Can and do fly. Just fed up with our 'stealth economy' where councils, the taxman, and in this case airport authorities think it's clever to sting you with every move. I've chosen Easyjet over Ryanair in the past due to more transparent pricing and I hope that drop offs at Heathrow, that I've made use of recently, stay simple and free.
There are far bigger stealth taxes though than this. You actually don't need a luggage trolley.0 -
For me its more rocking up off a red eye from the other side of the world with no GBP.
Luton is the worst airport in the world though imo. Only FLL comes even remotely close.0 -
Unless you turn up with three big bags and a few young kids.... Then you kind of do0
