We tend to eat chicken about 4 times a week then mince lamb twice and fish in breadcrumbs once the odd day is usually red meat of some kind but in a pie or sausages or bacon etc.....
I am really trying to find a recipe for a vegetable dish dh will eat, it's not that he won't eat veg but he is very traditional and thinks EVERY meal should consist of protein, carbs, and vitamins. bit of a pain in the backside sometimes.

We only have red meat about twice a year when we have chops. I can't do roast joints as they are either very rare or tough as old boots.
We do have chicken, turkey and fish, we have two chicken legs in the oven as I type0 -

How can they be vegetarian and not eat pulses and most veggies? Surely they must have a really poor diet, The only remaining protein source is dairy which is loaded with fat!0 -
Mainly red meat here, Lamb twice a week, beef, pork, chicken and fish once a week. Whatever needs using up for the last day. I would like to have a veggie day but a meal without meat is not a meal as far as DP is concerned. I do bulk out meat meals with pulses though whenever possible.0

Anything with four legs is considered red meat. Not sure where rabbit & hare fit into that, though! (I would have said "game").
Some define red meat as that which is red before it is cooked and think that pork is in this category. Probably the division should be between poultry/birds (white) and mammals (red) which includes rabbits.0 -
hmmm with us it depends on what i get on offer and what i'm in the mood to cook. We had chicken korma tonight but we had steak last night. WE tend to have 1 sometimes 2 non meat meals a week ie scrambled eeg/beans on toast type things or spaghetti in tomatoey sauceOther women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts0

Although neither myself or OH are vegetarian, most of the things we cook are vegetarian or vegan. I don't like red meat but OH will have steak or sausages maybe once a month and we have chicken once in a while, usually on Sunday.
We try to buy most of our meat from our local butcher who only sources local meats that have been ethically reared, or from the farmers market but we do buy the odd bit of bacon at Mr T's if its for pasta sauce.
I can't bear the smell of lamb, it makes me heave and roast pork smells like old man0 -
well my dp is a trained butcher, so a dinner with no meat is not a dinner.
we have red meat 5 days and say chicken curry and chicken on a sunday.
i would love to cook more without meat, me and the kids have fish once a week smoked haddock mostly.
he likes his meat and yes its pain because it has to come from a butcher shop
hes also a likes to fish so the rare occasion he catches a salmon me and the kids will eat it because he hates fish.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0 -
I would be quite happy to eat vegetarian most of the time, but the others will only have veggie meals occasionally. We would have fish at least twice a week for dinner and probably something like sardines or tuna for lunches, chicken, beef or mince would make up the other days' meals, sometimes the amount of meat is small...stir fry with lots of veggies, carbonara etc. Love lamb but we only have it as mince or roast shoulder as it is very expensive.

I dont eat red or white meat, but eat fish maybe 2 or three times a week.... and hardcore veggies the rest of the week. I do add pulses to soups. Batcholers BeanFeast, savory mince flavour is a fab Sunday dinner choice. I normally add an onion and carrot to bulk it out a bit.0
