    Thanks, for comparison the price drops to £76 but not really suitable for day returns. An example being if i took the 8pm train home i would not arrive in say Liverpool until over 9 hours later. I can't get 2 days off work in December unfortunately.

    Think Dublin it is. I can get from my house to Dublin city centre return for cheaper and flight times are good for a day trip.
