Report concerns about a woman and child to Social Services

Thank you all for confirming that its possible to report adult welfare concerns.
This is not about rows! Not at all. This is about a controlling and manipulative man trying to force the woman to be his ideal person. This includes issues of "you should move out for the days when you're kid isn't at his dads", being given clothes to wear, sulking in bedroom when kid is there, woman using kids bank card to buy whisky (man will only drink single malts..) Woman admitted issues directly. Kid and his dad confirmed bank card issues.
FWIW woman treats kid as her peer, SS involved. Kid has been diagnosed as autistic since he was a preschooler. Current question marks if this is fabricated. Woman and man both drink heavily and use synthetic cannabis plus possible other drugs.
Lots of problems and certainly a family in need, just wanted to be sure it was possible to report adults.
Thank you.0 -

Then that would be more than a screaming row, whoever was wearing the dark glasses. However, most of us can scream at our partners without thumping them!0 -

Do you mean can you report concerns about adults? I.e., the woman in this situation as oppose to the child?
If so, yes you can, but it's not likely there will be an intervention unless the woman is vulnerable, for example, she is disabled, has a learning disability, or serious mental health issues etc.
An adult woman who is not vulnerable would be considered entitled to choose for herself if she wished to continue in a relationship others may perceive to be abusive.
For a non vulnerable adult, there may be more appropriate means of assisting her, if she wants this, such as making her aware of Women's Aid or other DV organisations.
Have you talked to her? Does she want support?
Should you become aware that she, or any person, seems to be in IMMEDIATE danger, for example, you hear sounds of violence, you should call the police.
You say the authorities are already involved with the child. This being the case, they are probably aware to some extent of the situation in the household as the child's welfare is considered holistically.
However, if drug use is taking place around the child, and the child's money is being misappropriated, this should be something to make them aware of.
It sounds as though the child is on record, so a straightforward phone call to raise these concerns is all that would be required, and you can remain anonymous.

I'm on tenter hooks. The police are doing a welfare check as I write. Things went downhill fast this weekend. Thoughts and prayers for my friend please.0

They sound like the family from hell. You can report them, but I doubt much will be done. We had a very similar situation not far from us, where the mum was outside the house smoking pot and getting paralytic with her 14 year old son and his mates. Trying to recapture her lost childhood, I presume.0
