Cancelled VM after price hike - No confirmation?

Hi all,
After receiving the recent price hike e-mail from VM, I had chosen to cancel as it would be too expensive since they have no plans to roll out their telephone service in my area (would mean paying £30 to BT just to have a landline). This was displayed as free in the price hike e-mail I received that said I could cancel fee-free (currently 11 months into an 18 month contract).
It has been about two weeks since my call to them, and I haven't received any written or e-mail confirmation it was due to be disconnected. I called up again, but was told it should have been sent on the day of the first call, but the advisor confirmed it was due to cancel, however could not resent or give me a written confirmation (weird).
Just wondering if anyone else that has cancelled did receive any kind of confirmation?

My VM is due to cancel tomorrow. Like you I've had no confirmation.
However I was chatting to CS about my next bill (which is for services from 22/09, but I cancel as of 21/09).
She confirmed my service was set to cancel, she cancelled my DD so the bill isn't paid by mistake and informed me my bill should be given an automatic credit to make it £0.00
So I'm fairly happy everything is in order but I'll give an update tomorrow I'm sure!0 -
If you've cancelled, why would you need written confirmation?
Your services will be cut off thirty days after you gave notice, surely that will be confirmation enough?

So that you don't get stung for 2 lots of 30 days cancellation bills...
"Oh sorry, there's no notes on our system that you have cancelled..."0 -
You are well right there liviboy. It happens a lot and how can you prove otherwise? I play the game every year. Luckilly every time i cancel i get an email (with virgin and sky) to confirm the changes. That way i have something to show if something goes wrong.0

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
It seems I received my price hike email on the 15th September.
I'm sure I received a letter but proberly threw it in the bin.
Has anyone else had the price hike email within the last two weeks?
I want out but they want to charge me £240 as I'm only 6 months into a new contract. I've been with them for 10years!
I understand I can cancel my contract because of the price hike?
Many thanks0 -
read the email then.
It should say you can get out, by a date on the email0 -
Just to update:
Logging into My Virgin Media I. I.e. have a message saying services disconnected and that I have now left VM.
I can still view my bill but cannot confirm the credit story as yet. So will wait and see what happens with that.0 -
I cancelled today, see it in my profile after logging into virgin media.0
