Options
Hello! I used to use MSE years ago and was really active in this group. At the time my wife and I had a weekly thread we would post on with our meal plans. I was wondering if I could start this up again if there's interest? I'll post mine first :) My weekend is Sunday & Monday so my plan begins Tuesday, but I think if people like it I will try to post the thread every Monday! We are vegan, but all diet types welcome!

Breakfasts:
green smoothies (bananas, mango or blueberry, lime, ginger and spinach)
Lunches:
veg couscous or salads or toasties
Dinners:
tuesday - Spiced root & lentil casserole w/ giant couscous
wednesday - Sweet potato dhal w/rice
thursday - Mushroom risotto
friday - Out at friend's 30th birthday do
saturday - Chana masala wraps w/ mum's indian salad
sunday - Tomato, pepper and chickpea tagine w/ giant couscous
monday - Chilli bean burritos

I hope the thread takes off

We don't really have puddings, sometimes I've baked and there will be that or there is always ice cream in the freezer
Love people use things. The opposite never works.
  • Do you buy the massaman sauce/paste or make it? I'[ve fancied making a veggie version for a while :)

I'm not doing too well this week, but determined to get back on track - OH has been cooking while I've been under the weather so lots of 'on toast' meals.

We shop on a Sunday so I want to get through this week with no purchases.

Thursday - Turkey fillet with courgette, broccoli, carrots, and baked white potato (and proper butter).

Friday - Turkey fillet with sweet potato mash, carrots, and courgette

Saturday - Faggots and gravy with sweet potato mash and mushy peas
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.

I buy the paste and then add fish sauce, tamarind paste and some palm sugar, I should try and make it from scratch I'm sure I've got a recipe somewhere

Ooo yes, I'd love to join in please ? Here are this week's meals (hopefully!). Not the best of plans, too many "chips n beans" but feeling a bit creaky this week, so it will have to do

    HM Quiche, chips and beans
    Spag bol
    Mushroom stroganoff, kale and rosti
Kung po tofu & sugar snap peas, EFR, tofu skin spring rolls
    quorn sausages, chips n beans
Smokey chilli sweet potato bean bake with cornbread
Cabbage curry, Tarka dhal, chickpea bread
  • This all looks great. Some of you obviously like washing up a lot more than me :')

How early do you guys usually plan the next week's menu? Do you ask your families to chip in with ideas?
