Trying to pay Halifax credit card online

Thank you all. Don't have a branch near by and I get online statements. Will look at paying direct from my bank though. I just liked being able to log on, look at my balance and pay with debit card, but there isn't a facility for that. Sounds as though it's easier for those with a Halifax bank account.0

Perhaps (some) people are used to paying their credit card bill using a debit card. Halifax doesn't offer that feature.
The payment information on the back of my Halifax Clarity statement changed from May onwards. It now contains this:- You can pay by debit card by phone, in branch, Internet Banking or the mobile app
I did make a payment online using a debit card in June. That option has since disappeared, however it's still possible to pay by debit card via their automated phone system.
For me, the advantage of paying by debit card is a pretty insignificant reward.0 -
This midly threw me off to, I, like others, got a clarity card for overseas spending and am so used to logging into whatever CC portal I chose and making a manual debit card payment, I kept thinking I was missing something with Halifax. Not a deal breaker by any means, but seems like a odd ommision in todays market.0

Probably mildly threw you off because the thread is a few years old...Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. Credit to my mortgage broker0 -
Just add them as a Payee on your online banking and pay away, just make sure you choose the correct account number and sort code - which should be in your PDF statements.0

I have been mine mine every month with no issues.
Minimum payment is setup just in case but i always pay it off in full about a week before the payment date.
Login select pay card, choose payment account etc and click pay statement in full. Done.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Halifax will be taking the minimum payment regardless from October, even if you make a payment in the meantime.
The only time they will reduce a direct debit payment is to stop the account going into credit.
So today's rule of thumb (bill payment for the full balance more than X days before the DD gets taken) becomes bill payment for full balance less minimum at any point upto the due date.0
