Trying to pay Halifax credit card online

Does anyone else have a problem laying there Halifax credit card online? I have a direct debit set up to pay the minimum but like to pay off more. There isn't a payment facility to do this online. I have rang them and the day they have 'temporarily' taken away the facility. This was a while ago. So to pay extra you have to ring up and spend 30 mins trying to get through. Is it me or is this really bad of them as it's discouraging people to pay by making it harder to do so. Am quite annoyed and don't know how to broach it to get the facility back.

No you don't. Your statement provides the information required (sort code & collection account number, so just add the card number as reference) for making a payment from any current account held elsewhere.

sort code: 77-29-00 Account number: 00000000 and your 16 digit credit card number as the reference are the details I have setup for paying.
maybe send a small test payment 1st?

edit: didn't see YB had posted. he is of course correct and checking an online statement the details are shown as per my post.

As stated elsewhere, there are numerous payment options on your statement.

Pushing the funds from your bank account to your credit card is what you probably need to do. Rather than thinking you can somehow instigate payment via your credit card log in (not possible for non-Halifax accounts and I don't think it ever has been).

I don't think they've made anything harder. It all seems quite straight forwards.

I've just got a Clarity, mainly for the perks when abroad. I also have a Halifax account and made my first payment from the app in my nobile phone. Very straightforward, payment from current account to credit card.

I imagine the website would be just as easy if you have a Halifax bank account.

My friend has a Halifax credit card but an account elsewhere.

Just as easy to set up a Faster Payment; usually shows as cleared one or two working days later.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

    Having exactly the same issue.

Got an Halifax Clarity for overseas spend, which sats on a draw for most of its life. I too was surprised by the lack of payment by card and sat a while waiting for them to pick up the call.

The other thing I noticed with these guys is the random digit on a 10 letter word. Its frustrating as hell as I normally choose completelly random passwords such as "8jn&8hGgf" and find myself having to sit down and write on a paper counting each digit.

Ill have a go at using the bank transfer option next time :)

If you get paper statements, you can can take that into either a Halifax/BOS or branch of your own bank for payment.

Faster Payments set up from any current account or many savings accounts will usually arrive the same day too.

I don't understand the problem! I use Halifax Online Banking. For the Credit Card, there is an option "Pay Credit Card". This takes you into a screen where you can pay minimum payment, statement balance, or your chosen amount.

Maybe this is because I also have a current account with them, although this facility is within the CC account, not the current account.

Yes, it's because you have a current account with Halifax.

Perhaps (some) people are used to paying their credit card bill using a debit card. Halifax doesn't offer that feature.
