Hi
Thinking about a new kitchen.
Does anyone have an Ikea kitchen in their home.
We visited Ikea recently and was impressed.
Tell all the good and bad.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

We've had three Ikea kitchens, within the family and we're all pleased. They must be about 12/15yrs old now and good as new.
One thing you do need to consider is, there's no empty space and the back of the units were you can hide any pipes, but the advantage of that is the inside of the units are bigger. The kitchen fitter we got to do the job regularly fitted units from B&q; Wickes. etc and said the Ikea ones were better quality and went there afterwards for new units in his own house.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Hi again
That's reassuring... But hubby is just after telling me there wasn't any kitchen doors he liked in the range. Are the doors standard fit? Could othef doors be fitted?Every penny is a prisoner.......0 -
We got an Ikea kitchen four years ago and very happy it. Used their recommended fitter and he did a good job, wasn't happy with the electrician he in turn recommended though (overpriced and somewhat dishonest). Good thing about Ikea was when you want to make a change you can just go and buy the bits you need and add them easily, a couple of sliding baskets in our case.
Regarding fit just look at their website and get the dimensions then compare to somewhere else.0 -

What sort of dough are they for a small kitchen? Considerably cheaper than other shops?0

Mine was a shade over £3k including installation (not including electrical install), only electrical appliance was the extractor hood. Four under-counter units (mix of cupboards/drawers) + under sink (wide drawer), six cupboards. Through a discounted voucher scheme in work I got 7% off the total, the girl was a bit shocked when she had to put through 31x£100 vouchers mind you!0 -
We've had ours for about 6 years and love it, hubby fitted it himself and a friend did the electrics. We didn't buy the electrical stuff from there. I think the dishwasher space/door has been changed since we got ours we had no trouble fitting our dishwasher. I think if you search the site there have been a few problems with the dishwasher space/door.
Can't remember how much ours was, will try to find out.0 -
Ours was around £2800.0

My issue with Ikea was that they just give you a computer screen and you design it yourself.
With the Wickes and B&Q options, they did the work and offered suggestions, ideas and quirks.0
