Hester - sorry to hear about your eyes. Fingers will be crossed for you here.

Csarina - such good news from your family. Congratulations, seems apt after your sad loss, happiness comes in small wet bundles.

My day has been better than over the weekend. This morning I had my chin zapped again, it's certainly working. After that I had a walk, did a mean mile before the rain started and I made it back to the car before getting too wet. Made a beef stew and cooked some sausages which needed it.

Another neighbour called round - I swear that living in a very remote area with nearest neighbours not so near means that I see more of them than I ever did when living in the middle of a big city! Hardly a day goes by without someone coming in for a chat.

I've put the woodburner on for the second time since March. Not that it's very cold here but I just fancied it being on, so I'm sitting as far away from it as possible and enjoying watching the flames dance.

Hope all is well with everyone.

    Afternoon all
Back from hospital with both hearing aids replaced but bad news on the eyes, I have macular traction in the right eye now, so another needle in the eye in a year or so. I'm not happy as I had the same thing done on my left eye and they split my retina, if they do the same in the right eye I will be proper bu&&ered.
Hey ho, other here are much worse off.
    Hugs Hester

Hester I'm really sorry to hear that - I had vitreomacular traction in my left eye last year and I was due to have a vitrectomy because I didn't fit the criteria for the injection. However just before the operation (as in a week before!) it resolved itself spontaneously!! That can happen so fingers crossed for you.

I realised something was changing when I started getting a sort of spinning at the edge of my peripheral vision - think as in the Microsoft page loading. What helped me was really brisk walking which used to make my eye sort of quiver (you'll probably recognise what I'm talking about) and that set up a gentle pull which helped the vitreous to detach.

My consultant told me that in his experience the chances of getting it in the other eye are about 30%. I think I am beginning to get it in my right eye as well but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one sorts itself out in its own time as well. And keeping my fingers crossed for you:)
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
