I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Well best laid plans as they say. Best mate has just called me and asked me to make a fancy dress costume for her dog and her DD dog TODAY. Ok looks like a trip to charity shop and see what i can find.
    Bright Blessings xx
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, hope your appointment goes well Hester.

Its just started to rain, OH has taken the car in for service at the garage round the corner, he said its what in Scotland we would call smurr.

Monday clean to do, its taking me a bit longer now I have to clean the tiles, and mop the whole floor rather than just the bit in front of the bath.

I was going to do some more weeding, it will have to wait.

I was so glad of the shower yesterday, very sore back, I can no longer kneel down to weed, have to bend. Hot water on my back was wonderful.

Good morning all & big hugs to those going through tough times,
HH hope he appt goes well.

I've had a nice weekend too.DGC arived at lunchtime on Saturday and about teatime we went to a housewarming party at the house where DS2 & DH did a double extension,& rejigged the layout so it looks great.I hadnt met the man of the house before but DS was in the same class as the lady ,her parents were friends of ours until they divorced and he moved down south. They are amicable though and he was there with his 2nd wife and his ex was there too,so much catching up was had.We took the children too, they had a whale of a time in the big garden and the weather was kind, though DS left earlier to get them in bed.

Yesterday DGD along with her other Nana did a charity run through a big park to raise money for the local Hospice. They called them bubble run/rush as they have bubble machines that they run through so the kids especially had great fun,she had a big smile on her face when she ran past.DGS wanted to run after her but we thought he was a bit little so he went on the playground instead. So we are very proud of DGD who will be 5 next week-the Hospice is close to our hearts as thats where my Dad was and they were great :T

I need to do some shopping later, the fridge is practically empty, apart from chicken breasts that I will turn into curry for our tea later.I'm thinking of getting a meat pack from a local butcher, was talking to the party hostess and she said they're good.Bit sick of the meat from various supermarkets, always seems a bit tough( could be my cooking though :rotfl:)

Hope you all have the best day you can xx

  • Good morning chums,

Saturday was my day at the races. Broke even, could've been worse. When I started losing money I got scared and just stopped. Changed days.

Had a bit of a sore head on Sunday so a lazy day spent in the house.

Back to work today. Had a catch up with my manager this morning and there's been a lot of good things said about my first week and a lot of people have noted that they're impressed, so must be doing something right.

Hester - Good luck with the appointment
camelot - I too have the sniffles. Bloody Scottish 'summer'. I'll be sure to check Brewdog out, thanks.
LWW - Fingers crossed for your DD today.
  • Good morning everyone and big hugs for those who are finding life a trial at the moment .There are a few who are really having a hard time just now.

Well I'm back from my travels and what a great weekend I had We flew up to Aberdeen on Friday morning and everything went to plan with no hitches, even though it took us two and a half hours to travel 39 miles to the City Airport in London, traffic was horrendous, even at 6.00 a.m. in the morning.Luckily we had allowed plenty of time.
The flight with Flybe was really good, and for a budget airline there was plenty of leg room and the staff were great.

Picked our car up and as the small one we had booked hadn't returned we got a free upgrade (pats on the back for Europcar :)) We arrived in Brechin around 12.15 and the sun was shining and very mild.Over the weekend we had really nice weather and yesterday morning DD and I were walking along a beautiful stretch of beach at Montrose in the sunshine. The reunion went well on Friday night and my cousin Tom had brought his two Dds over with him as well The eldest is 6 months pregnant with her first baby and she was a dear little lass and we all got on like a house on fire. Her new little 'twig' for the family tree is due in December :)
Saturday we spent trawling around the cemetery in Brechin and in the cathedral, as lots of the relations are planted there :) including my Grandfather (1834-1897) and gt Grandfather (1804-1883) who are buried in the cathedral grounds. The weather was really nice and sunny and although it was a burial ground it was so interesting to find and put together in the jigsaw some of the past ancestors.

Flew home last night and although I am a little tired today its something that I will sort out by having a bit of a 'pottering' day :) I put the washing machine on when I got home last night so as its nice and sunny and dry the clothes will all go out on the line for a blow.

This morning I will be sorting out all of the photos i took and emailing some off to the relations

Hope you all had a good weekend and we are halfway through the month already !!!

    take care chums

    JackieO xx

Back from hospital with both hearing aids replaced but bad news on the eyes, I have macular traction in the right eye now, so another needle in the eye in a year or so. I'm not happy as I had the same thing done on my left eye and they split my retina, if they do the same in the right eye I will be proper bu&&ered.
Hey ho, other here are much worse off.
    Hugs Hester

Hester did you sue them when they split your retina :eek: I hope you don't have the same problem with this eye.

Had a lovely weekend, we went to Elephantastic weekend and had a marvelous time, had our photos done with Lucha and we were allowed to stroke her and feed her some bread, elephants are such gorgeous creatures :D
We took the big scooter with us this time and it was so relaxing not having to worry if the charge was going to run out, which always happens with the small one, it is 600 acres to get around so quite a trek.

Didn't bother with a roast when we got home, we had some soup and that did us nicely.I am doing a roast dinner tonight instead :D

Raining here so just a pottering sort of day, housework is done and I am going to do some crafting this afternoon, lots to do before the Christmas Fete, but am well on the way to being finished with everything by the end of October :j

Off to phone the Hossie about so called urgent spinal appointment

  • Just had a call from my eldest daughter, she is going to be a Grandma next March, GGC no 6 for us and its a boy, she sent me a picture of the scan. She always wanted a boy, but after DGD came along there were no more, so she is over the moon. Traditionally for some reason the first child has always been a girl, so he will break the duck......
