  • He'll have a debit card with the U19s account.

The £500 limit is for faster payments via internet banking, there shouldn't be an issue with making a £4,000 debit card payment.

    I think there will be!
How many kids do you know who send/pay £4000 let alone £17500 on any transaction - this will be blocked by the bank until they can speak to him.

Then why not just go into the bank and speak to them?
You can make any payment you like if you have the funds and can establish your identity.

When I say shouldn't be any issue I mean that there won't be a limit that will prevent that payment. Obviously a bank can check a payment if it seems unusual or suspicious but if/when those checks happen he can still make the payment. Whereas he can't in online banking because it's overs Lloyds' limit.
