Service has left my car vibrating
Hello all,
Looking for some advice. My car had no faults when I took it in for a yearly MOT which passed.
I then thought i'd give it a routine service. As I drove off the car was shaking and vibrating with engine management light on.
Im taking it back to them tomorrow. I feel the garage would say its not their fault and that further repairs will be required which il need to pay for.
Does anyone have experience of handling this? Can i claim on their insurance if my car is not restored to its pre-service state? Etc.
Any advice is much appreciated. :j

I'm betting it's a petrol and they've not pushed Ht leads on fully or something0

So who actually serviced it, your post is confusing.
Why did you not stop if the car was shaking and the EML was on and return to the garage if they serviced it straight away?0 -
They serviced it.
I returned to the garage on the same day when I noticed the light was not going off and car still vibrating but they had packed up and gone home. Therefore i will need to return once they re-open.
Hope that clarifies.0 -
looks like OP has serviced a car with a new MOT , and after him/her doing the service the light is on and its running rough
A MOT examiner would not need to go under the bonnet of a carSave a Rachael

Still be interesting to know the name of the garage which serviced/mot'd car. Small garage or chain?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I think its likely that an HT lead has been left a little loose during the service, and needs to be popped back on.0 -
It'll probably just be a vacuum pipe or sensor lead left or knocked off but really poor show from whoever signed it off after the serviceChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

And fuel leaks power steering leaks etc
Of course the bonnet will be opened during an mot.
Sounds like garage serviced it not op0 -
