Trivago isn't always the cheapest

I usually use Trivago to find the cheapest accommodation and recently on holiday we needed to add rooms, I went on Trivago and DH went on Booking.com, Trivago was showing Hotels.com as cheapest and Bookings.com was cheaper than Trivagos cheapest. I have found Trivago usually shows Hotels.com as cheapest and now I am wondering if I could have got it cheaper and I am actually paying for the free night I have earned.

Yes and hotels.com don't always include taxes and sometimes you get cheaper prices at the hotel's website and some websites use different exchange rates to convert to GBP.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

trivago is just a comparison site, I use it but only as a starting-point and I have other sites I use too, before I make any decision about which online agent I'm going to use to book.0

9 times out of 10 the hotel's own website is the cheapest.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Nothing is 'always' the cheapest, shop around............
Even the pound shops are sometimes not the cheapest....0 -

You also need to take into account of cashback rates, loyalty points, cancellation policies... nothing is ever as simple as being the "cheapest".0 -
